Contest alert- All in one contest W43: Growing Strong, One Meal at a Time.
The morning sun was shining brightly across the school playground. Kids were. Having a great time. Daniel was one of them. He was eight years old and loved playing football than anything else. Every time there was a break Daniel would run to the field. He thought he could run faster than all his friends. Something was different now. After playing for a minutes Daniel would get tired and stop. His friends would keep playing without him.

Daniels teacher, Mrs. Grace noticed that he was not playing like he used to. She did not scold him. Instead she asked him to talk to her after class. Mrs. Grace. Asked Daniel what he ate every day. Daniel said that he usually does not eat breakfast because you always wanted to sleep a little longer. He would instead purchase sweets and soft drinks at school just because there were quick and to him tasty. Daniel usually don't eat vegetable and he would only eat fruits if someone reminded him.
Mrs. Grace listened to Daniel. Then told him something important. "Our bodies are like trees " she said. "Trees need water and good soil to grow. We need food to grow strong."
Daniel remembered what Mrs. Grace said.
The weekend Daniels grandmother came to visit. She always like cooking meals containing some vegetables fish with on fruits. While she was cooking she then asked Daniel for help. She explained what each food did for his body. "The rice gives you energy to play " she said. "The fish helps build your muscles and brain. The vegetables keep you from getting sick. The oranges help keep you healthy."

Daniel was curious about the food. He realized that food was not something to fill his stomach. It was what helped him achieve his dreams.
His grandmother also told him to drink plenty of water of sugary drinks. She said water helped his body work properly and kept him cool. She said much sugar would make him feel tired soon.
On Monday Daniel woke up early. He ate a breakfast with eggs, bread and a banana. At lunchtime he ate the meal his mother had packed. His friends laughed at him because he chose fruit of sweets. Daniel just smiled because he remembered what his grandmother said.
As time went on Daniel was not tired anymore when he played football. He could run faster. Focus in class. He even did his homework easily. His teachers noticed that he was participating more in class and his parents were happy to see him sleeping well and waking up with energy.
His friends asked Daniel what had changed. Daniel told them about eating. He said strong bones need milk and dairy products muscles need protein from eggs and fish and fruits and vegetables help keep us from getting sick.

Daniels friends were inspired by his story. They started bringing lunches to school. Soon Mrs. Grace organized a "Healthy Food Day" where everyone brought a meal to share. The classroom was filled with fruits and vegetables. The kids learned that healthy food could be delicious.
By the end of the school term everyone had learned about eating. Parents were sharing recipes kids were reminding each other to drink water and the school was serving healthier food. One little boy had inspired his community to think differently about food.
Good food is one of the things we can give to kids. Healthy meals give us energy to learn, strength to play and protection from sickness. They help our bones grow, our brains. Our bodies stay healthy. Every healthy meal is an investment in a kids future.

Like Daniel learned, being healthy does not require food. It's begins with making choices like eating good fruits and vegetables thereby choosing healthy foods over sweets instead drinking water and eating balanced meal. These little choices will help us to build a happier life.
**Conclusion** |
|---|
Parents should ensure that their kids consume meals at the right time and manner. As parents we are to make sure that our kids are provided with meals that contain carbohydrates for energy, protein for growth, fats for brain agility, and also the consumption of fruits and vegetables to provide vitamin and adequate water in the body. Parents are also to make sure that's kids consume healthy meals at home rather than relying on snacks and sugary drinks.
This is for all the kids to remember that food which you eat today will make you the person you will become tomorrow. Eating healthy foods will help you to become strong and active in school etc. Every healthy choice you make brings you closer to a brighter future.
