EPC As An Investment? (Let's Find Out How Good It Is!)

I have written a bunch of different things about EpicDice previously and most people should know that I really believe that EpicDice and other gambling dApps are good for Steem in general.
However, I have also "pitched" EPC (the official token of EpicDice), as an investment a couple of times, and that is honestly speaking not accurate, as a token you're able to earn through gambling can not and should not be seen as an investment. You don't invest when you are placing bets...
- You gamble.
Both investments and gambling involves risks, but they are two separate things and should not be mistaken for being the same thing. I know they aren't the same thing, but I often speak as if they were, just because it's how I personally see things. It doesn't matter to me if I buy tokens or gamble to get them... I see it as an investment, good or bad, but they are two different things.
With that being said...
I have decided to do a more in-depth analysis of EPC, from an investors perspective. Nothing more and nothing less.
So I basically need two things to do this.
- Steem.
- EPC tokens.
I want to make it as easy as possible to track both the value of my EPC stake and the dividends I earn, so I will use my second account, (@evildolltv), to keep track of all the numbers.

My @evildolltv accounts holds a total of 0 Steem and 0.594 EPC prior to this analysis, and my goal is to track the value of my EPC tokens and take a closer look at the dividends I earn, to see if this can be a profitable investment.
So, the first thing I need to do, is to buy EPC tokens. Secondly, I will hold my EPC as they are, without any changes to the stake, and I will let any potential dividends be transferred into my account, without using them for a total of 7 days for starters. I do realize that 7 days is a very short time frame to see real progress, but due to the recent increase in value these recent days, I figured it could give me some insight to see the potential at least. I will continue to keep track of these things to give you an even better, more in-depth analysis further on.
I bought 1 million tokens.

I bought 1 million EPC tokens, and I spent a total of 149.99 Steem. I wanted this to be as easy as possible, tracking numbers and everything, so I decided to go with a total of 1 million tokens and even though I found it a little bit expensive (judging by the numbers we've seen in the last 14 days), I went with the price of 149.99, as it's basically 150 Steem. I could probably have bought 1 million tokens for anything between 110 and 140 Steem if I had waited. I personally think that we can see this increase in EPC value due to the recent dividends, so if those are going down, I think the prices are likely to go down a bit again... But I do believe that EPC will be valued higher than it is today in a near-ish future.

My tokens are worth 130 Steem at the time I'm writing this, according to the highest bid on Steem-engine, so I would basically have lost 20 Steem if I sold my stake now.
The reason for me to do this is because I truly believe that EPC will go up in price, but even if I believe in EPC, I am eager to see the real potential in terms of accurate numbers. And as I can clearly see that EpicDice is very-likely, according to recent numbers, to be far more lucrative than other gambling dApps out there, in terms of dividends, I just had to do this.
That being said, I have another EpicDice-related article coming up shortly (within the next 10-24 hours). That article is not related to this "investment"-post.

You hold way more tokens on your main account right?
I only hold about 55k tokens and get 0.1 somedays, which is not bad :D

Nope, actually not. Not at this point, but I wanted to do this with another account as my main account is used frequently in terms of selling, buying and gambling, with some prize rewards too at times.. So it felt better to do this with a second account. :)
Ohh okay :D
Yeye, I get it. Its easy when you only get steem from one place :D
Yeah, I figured it would be a lot easier to calculate everything properly if I used an account with zero stats so to speak.
Ye true.
Thats kinda what I am trying to do with @sidekicker. Not sure what I wanna do with that account. But its currently only upvoting playdice :D So with luck it can pay for itself when it gets more of its own SP

I've decided to stay as far away as I can from gambling tokens... Way too risky in the crypto market, way too many exit scams, let's not forget magicdice and the other one which I forgot xD
But hey, good luck with that investment, It's risky but if you have some success with it you will make a lot of $
That is very true and I can totally understand your decision. I was very skeptical too at first, before I found EpicDice. I cannot guarantee anything, but I don't think that they will leave, and legit gambling dApps, which both EpicDice and KG seems to be (based on how long they've been around, updates and all that), is good for Steem. Well, that's my opinion obviously.
That being said, gambling, or gambling tokens etc, aren't for everyone, and I can totally understand that. I usually don't recommend gambling dApps, but I do write about them. Especially EpicDice, as I am a moderator of their discord channel and a believer in the project. :)
