Beyond the Coinstar machine Plunder Log for July 2019

Is that our Precious?
I think this a better picture than a Coinstar machine.

This is a monthly series of log entries documenting my extended quest of finding Silver treasure in the most unlikely places or is it?

"One day there will be some poor little old widow with one of her late husband's jars of coins to be sorted by that newfangled green teller machine. She eases the jar on the machine to stare at the electronic screen testing her old bifocals tilting her head one way then the other. She mumbles to herself, 'What happened to the good old days when there's a lovely Teller to give me personal service?' I hear the sound of coins clatter into a metal tray. “My Sylvester needs some cat food, I forget my head if it wasn't attached”, she says. And hopefully I will be there just when she's done."

The results from my local Coinstar Machine

Total Checks two, as I was off my routine for the most of July but NO COIN or SILVER Results.
However, from a totally random chance at the gas station not far the Coinstar machine is this curious coin resembling a Loon $1.

What I thought as my Coinstar Consolation find of $1 dollar turned out to be another business token to operate the nearby self serve automotive vacuuming equipment located adjacent to the Car Wash & Gas Station. This token is deliberately made slightly larger than the Canadian Loon dollar for commercial vending machines to distinguish it from the legal currency. Looking at the machine the station charges $1 to use the vacuum as it also takes $1 loonies as well.
Whoopie, I don’t even own a car.

Now into the results from the Compass Fare Machines!

Now there has been a change in the Fare System by ways of an increase of general fares. Meaning the Single travel zone via rail system cash fare is now $3.00 rather than $2.95 so I would expect the nickel finds would be far lower from now on.

bwahahaha you do have at least ONE Silver Coinstar coin, the Rosie I sent you was from the green monster coin eater...

Ye tell your plunder tails so much better than I, but it seems me plundering is much more successful... Ye Canadians must be more thrifty.

It was? I'll have to make a note on that. Coin flow from my local two Coinstars have dried up. At least the Compass fare machines have some results in fiat coin. 😘

My coinstar has been dry lately too... hopefully I will hit it big soon.

Great finds, and 2 keepers!!! Isn't it so funny... I see @myprecious in so many places since SSG!
And I shall check the Coinstar machine near me and see what I will find... and be sure to tell you!

I got another 'Precious' microbrewed beverage I'm just itching to try. I'm getting the impression that either I or Precious has a drinking issue.

Yes, Spiked Seltzer with My Precious.......

Wow, you have all that old/recent money pieces with you ? You own them ? Is crazy ..... I would love to hold them with me...

This article shows the current money I find in vending machines I check. The real money I like to collect tends to be old silver coins like in this picture that includes a Swiss 1966 franc silver coin at the bottom. These are part of my collection and savings.

I love these posts. No silver this month, but you still found some spoils for your pirate ship! Haha! :)

I keep looking every time I see a machine, but still have only scored once... I'd say you're doing well despite not finding silver this month! Keep at it!

As long as I stay a little bit lucky I'll keep checking. I may just use the cash to buy that Queen Anne's Revenge coin and claim my ship! Preorder price $31 CAD but I never do things the easy way. We shall see. Arrrh!

I miss those old caribou quarters.

I found a ring on the ground the other day. Shiny. Brought it home. I'm going to clean it up and see what I can do with it, but I suspect it's little more than a quarter-machine trinket.

Sometimes finding the odd earring, chain, or broken jewelry item too. Hard to figure out if it is unless they have legible jewellers and or purity stamps otherwise its often costume jewelry.
