Still lifes and flowers
These still lifes look great with flowers; this one in particular combines perfectly .
I love this one, the knife, the edge, the reflection, very beautiful
And I finish with this still life, the glass vase gives it that touch of freshness, or at least that's what I feel

Still lifes are colorful, they are placed in the dining room, someone once said that seeing them whets the appetite, which is perhaps the reason why they are placed there.
It is the first time I hear that. I would never place it in a dining room, not that I have a dining room. Since these are mainly flowers I wonder how this can whet the appetite.
In the dining room of my apartment I have a still life painting; it's a small painting, and it's customary to place it there.
Interesting but I see it nowhere where I live and cannot remember anyone in my family ever did. Yesterday I saw a painting I would more likely hang up above the dining table

Perhaps it is because a still life reminds us of the painter Jan Steen and the Dutch expression: Een huishouding van Jan Steen (a housekeeping of Jan Steen) which means you have a very dirty and untidy home. Such a still life above the table will not improve the appetite. The table should attract the attention, be neatly set with table cloth and so on. I assume that is why our walls in average are empty and white +perhapso white because the wall is easier to clean and repaint).

Here in Colombia the custom is to place these still lifes in the dining room, they are different customs

I have no decorations in my apartment, literally nothing.
There's nothing wrong with empty walls. I paint but mine only have two which is enough and it is not even made by made.
I like still lifes, in fact I like everything related to art
The fruit and the jug look good; many still lifes are painted this way, a few with flowers. These paintings are usually placed in the dining room of houses and apartments.
The color of the fruit is usually very realistic, that's what I like about these still lifes.

Inam not too fond of paintings like these but you do need a good eye to paint compositions. Out of all I like the first most and the last one reminds me of Jan Steen. Painting glass is very difficult but it is done super and that case surely atracks the attention of the viewer. It is the only peaceful spot.
I always wonder where to hang paintings like these. A messy view would make make me nervous.
