Dusty Path of Memories: A Piece of Childhood Amidst the Busy Work

The project I am currently working on is located some distance from our place of residence. Every day, we have to walk about half an hour to go to work and return after work. Although this travel time seemed a bit long or tiring at first, now this walk has become one of the special feelings of my daily life.

In the middle of this path from our place of residence to work, there is a large empty space. Green grass and wild plants have grown on both sides of this vast field, and right in the middle of it, a beautiful narrow dirt path has been created due to people constantly walking through it. As soon as I see this crooked path of reddish soil, my mind goes back to the past. This scene reminds me of those familiar paths of the familiar villages we left in our childhood.

In the busyness of urban or mechanical life, many of us forget our roots and the familiar environment of our childhood. But when I walk along this paved path every day, it feels as if the calm and traditional form of rural Bengal is peeking out here. The calm environment around, the cloudy sky above my head and the gentle breeze blowing over the grass on both sides instantly remove all the fatigue of the mind.

When I walk along this path with a safety helmet on my head and responsibility on my shoulders, the simplicity of the surrounding nature helps me to remove the monotony of work. On one hand, the boundary wall and canopy of the project built in the distance symbolize our present busy life, on the other hand, this dirt path is a means of taking us back to the past. The combination of these two really creates a different feeling.

Walking this 30-minute path every day is not just a commute, it is a beautiful opportunity to talk to yourself and remember the golden days of childhood. Such a simple form of nature reminds us that in this busy life, the real peace of life may be hidden in this simplicity. I may have to go to many other places for work, but the memory of this beautiful path I found amidst my busy schedule will always be etched in my mind.
