The rate at which marriage collapse these days will make someone to have a rethink about venturing into it. Marriage should be for better for worse that is, it is a life game that requires everything most especially resilience to be successful.

Both partners need to understand each other very well before going into, it is not just something you rush into if you don't want to rush out of it. According to expects, it is advisable to court for at least 2-3 years before going into marriage and this is a period known as courtship.

It is very important and essential in every relationship so that at the end of the day, you will not be hearing things like, I don't know she doesn't know how to cook very well or I don't know he was the smoking and drinking type. This are excuses that always come up when the marriage did not work out.

During the period of courtship, you need to take your time to study and understand your partner very, as a guy, this is the period you should verify the type of family she is coming from and know if there is a particular problem or disease associated to such family and the same thing goes to the girl also. Even in terms of medical approach, there is need for series of test. Most especially, genotype test because it will not sound well at the end when the guy is AS and the lady also is AS, medically it is not advisable for such partners to get marry to each other to avoid the problem of SS.

Sometimes ago, I was discussing with someone and I told the person that if I am dating a lady and whenever she comes around, she won't care whether the room is tidy or not, I should be able to know what I am expecting from her in terms of taking good care of the house if we eventually get married. It is left to decide if I still want to go into marriage with her so that there won't be problem after marriage.

It is either you marry your partner for whom he/she is or you let him/her go for good and look for a more suitable partner. It is during the period of courtship that you can really get to know him/her very well.

It is possible to identify some weaknesses in your partner during courtship, you must try everything possible means to correct the weaknesses so that you will not get tired of such weaknesses after marriage. Why I am saying this is because we have seen case whereby the guy will say he think the lady is going to change after marriage and she doesn't, the guy gets tired of it and then the marriage crashed.

You need to understand your partner before going into marriage with him/her and it takes time to accomplish that and that time is what is known as courtship.
