Childlike in our tribes

Not sure why I wrote this one, maybe I'm trying to understand something...

“Why do we feel shame and where does it come from? Children don’t feel shame and so it must be something that we are taught. Why and who would teach us such a thing, what purpose does it serve?

Shame is so deeply imprinted into our psyche that it may not be possible to get it out now and the older one gets the more it becomes a part of one’s make up.

Although we are not going to go running around like children, still, there’s no need to be conditioned to be ashamed of the body we wear.

In some parts of the world there are still peoples not touched by the hand of the controllers or infected by the conditioning of modern society and so grow up without shame and leave their bodies uncovered for the most part and think nothing of it.

In the west it is a shameful crime to uncover yourself in public and if you do you are seen as a pervert and criminalised; but things being the way they are, with the mindset that there is I wouldn’t advocate running around naked where anyone can see you for fear of the enforcement brigade who will come and take you away and bludgeon you with the big shame hammer, and worse,” said the department of geriatrics winding up his clock.

“The girls are almost naked these days,” said the voice of an old idea.

“My whole point here is that the natural state of a human being is to be child-like and without shame whatever age one gets to, and not so much about running around without any clothes on.

I would say our ancestors, living in tribes covered themselves up more out of necessity to protect themselves against the extremes of the weather than for feeling any shame about any part of their body, and slowly over time convention set in and dictated the customs of the society.

When the controllers raised their head and brought shame to us all the rot set in and now it’s so ingrained in us it is taken as normal and right; but I do feel the child in us all must be confused as to what is so shameful about any part of creation that we should feel guilt in shame of uncovering it.

So we are taught shame, with guilt being the natural consequence of that and guilt of course must mean we’re not innocent and if we’re not innocent then we’re a criminal and must be punished,” said the department of geriatrics puffing now on his pipe.

“Arr, lock ‘em up is what I say,” said the vintage pirate from his grave of old trophies.

“This is a form of madness and control that’s been brought about by the ones who would dominate us and keep us all down at the level they are and feeling guilty and shameful for our very existence that must be so hurtful to God’s eyes one must wonder how He can stand us being here at all and must also be feeling shame at creating us.

Of course, slaves are not allowed to think for themselves about this, but if they did they must be so appalled at the devious workings of the controllers they would drop it like a rotten snake; but it’s a closed loop system that allows no creative thought about it and keeps one locked within its smothering embrace that the soul must surely become stifled and dry up in shame at its own existence,” said the department of geriatrics begging to nod off.

“Why have you said all this?” said the steam-powered clockwork machine from the side-lines.

“It seems to me that if the controllers would keep to their shameful self and not force its teachings upon anyone it could be viewed as a piece of rot that would die out in time, but it perpetuates itself in the minds of its believers in the hope it will save them from their guilt and shame that was put there by the controllers in the first place to rope people in to be saved and once in it’s so hard to get out; but there are programmes that help to de-cult anyone who asks for help,” said the department of geriatrics beginning to melt.

“So there’s no hope then?” said a passing gust of wind.

“Shame is not our natural state of being and has no other purpose than to make us feel guilt that can be used against us.
I was thinking that children are not born with shame, so why should we feel it when older? So this is my personal view about that.

If blame, shame, guilt or revenge worked we would all be feeling relief by now, but the opposite is true.

There was a time I would have been burnt alive for saying this, or stoned to death, but we are all more enlightened now, aren’t we?” said the department of geriatrics finally falling off the edge of the world to say no more.

“Is this the end then?” asked the end.

“Not quite yet,” replied the slave.
