The Diary Game: Cooking With My Girls(14-04-2026)

Hello @purpleidy23 lovers, trust you're doing great? I've been having electricity challenge for some days now and it has been affecting my engagements here because I can't show up here with low battery neither with a phone that's been down. Some days ago, I prepared Afang soup, a local delicacy that's widely consumed by Akwa Ibomites though it is widely gaining recognition in Nigeria as a whole. Here's the details of how I made it. I didn't plan on cooking on Tuesday because I had a small portion of rice that I had cooked the previous day so I thought it would take me throughout the day but the story changed when my friends came around, they were three in number and I didn't have anything at home to offer them and also didn't want them to leave my house without being offered anything so I excused them and went off to the market close to my house and bought food items to prepare Afang soup.

I know I'm actually a very lazy person so having my friends around was a good opportunity to make a good pot of soup that would last me for days as I knew they'd be willing to help if I ask them to. I was very snappy about my purchase as the sky had become cloudy more like it was about raining cat and dog but it ended up hailing instead but that was after I had gotten home. As I got home, my girls picked their task and I was assigned to washing and chopping waterleaf which I executed very fast.

My friend @purityy was already in the kitchen steaming the proteins while I was chopping the waterleaf, I took it to her when I was done and she volunteered to be our chef for the day. We were gisting when she announced that the meal is almost ready and I should buy the cold water I had planned to buy instead of waiting for when the food is ready so I went out to a shop nearby my house and bought cold sachet water worth one hundred and returned home.

As I got home, the soup was ready and had been dished by the chef. I was already salivating from just perceiving the aroma and when I finally tasted it, it was far better than how it looked. We ate and at interval would refill the soup plate till everyone was satisfied. I thanked my friend @purityy and the rest of my girls who helped me out in preparing the meal and we went to bed as it began to rain heavily again. We woke up in the evening and I saw my friends off, returned home and took my bath. I couldn't eat soup again for dinner so I took noodles and tea instead but couldn't snap as my phone had went off. I tried making this post yesterday but my battery percentage was too low that I couldn't use it for anything and today, I decided not to miss as I begged my neighbor who on his generator to allow me charge my phone and he did.
