The reality of viral trends

Hello everyone
Welcome back to another blog post.Today I wanted to step away from gaming for a second to talk about something I noticed while scrolling on my feed and looking around in real life. The incredibly short lifespan of viral trends.Specifically, what happened to the massive Labubu hype?
Not too long ago,you couldn’t open TikTok,Instagram or Pinterest without seeing these massive plush bag charms everywhere.People were literally losing their minds over them, camping outside malls for the latest drops, paying insane prizes and clipping them onto every handbag or tote they owned. It felt like the most ultimate must have aesthetic accessory of the season and the internet convinced us that everyone was obsessed.Fast forward to right now, that hype has completely flatlined.
It’s honestly funny how fast social media moves on,one day a trend is taking over the internet, and the next day it completely disappears from the spotlight.Nobody is talking about them anymore, nobody is showing off their collections, and the viral obsession just vanished into thin air.

This is such a great reality check for how manufactured online hype really is.Half the time, these trends don’t die because people got tired of them, they die simply because the algorithm moved on to the next shiny new thing to sell us.It creates an exhausting cycle where we’re pushed to buy constantly just to stay relevant, leaving perfectly good items forgotten a month later.
Even though the trend train has left the station,I think these plush charms are super cute. The best part of a trend dying is that you can fully just enjoy an item without it feeling like an over-saturated viral stunt.I’m still clipping mine to my bag because I genuinely like it.At the end of the day, personal style should be about what you love, not what an algorithm dictates is cool for two weeks.

Did you notice how fast the hype over labubus died out?what is another trend you saw die out overnight?Let’s talk about it in the comments below.
See you in my next blog.
