[esp-eng] watercolor portrait
I've done another watercolor portrait on paper that's supposed to be watercolor paper, but the truth is, it doesn't handle water very well. Now that's my problem; I can't leave a sketchbook blank once I've used it, so now I have to fill it up.
What do you do with those trial sketchbooks, the ones you get as gifts but that aren't any good, the ones you buy in a hurry and then regret? I think someone once told me I fill them up because I have a poverty mindset, and rather than buy a new one, I keep using the bad ones. I think my mind is more environmentally conscious; it just pains me a little to throw away something that can still be used.

I have the same issues and by now I use the paper and canvas for soft pastels.
I recently read to soak the paper in water first, next let it dry and after that you use it like you used to. The book is from 1988 so it can be that the types of paper changed but it is worth the try.
