SLC31-W1 | THE GREEN JOURNEY | The Art of Observation

To me, green open spaces are a miniature of nature where we can witness the machinery of life operating with divine instinct. In truth, every creature on earth moves according to its own nature—whether animals, plants, or other elements of nature. According to Islamic teachings, the lifespan of everything has been predetermined and proceeds by the permission and knowledge of Allah SWT.

Not a single leaf falls without His knowledge [Qur'an Surah Al-An'am:59]

This means that there are indeed no coincidences in this world; everything happens according to the laws of the Creator of the Universe, and of course there are always lessons to be learned from these phenomena if we observe them closely—even in the smallest details—so that we can conclude that nature is part of a unified system.

I was sitting quietly in the park

‎I firmly believe in how this concept of nature works, yet personally, I have never truly paid attention to what happens around us every day, especially when we’re busy with activities that drain our focus. Acting as an observer in a green space seems like an intriguing challenge, so I decided to sit quietly in Bambu Runcing Park and see what’s around me.

  • 🌫Clouds and Wind🌬

Rows of clouds in the sky

‎The slightly overcast clouds gathered and moved slowly; it felt increasingly refreshing to be in an area filled with vegetation, with fresh oxygen floating freely. Without hesitation, I took a deep breath, and a sense of calm began to settle in amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • 🌳Lush Trees

A variety of trees growing together

The trees offered shade, while the breeze made the branches and leaves dance, producing rustling sounds that created a rhythm and a harmonious song of nature, relaxing my mind.

  • 🌱Leaf Pattern

120767.jpg

The beautiful pattern of a single leaf

The broad leaves draw my eyes closer; they are works of art in the form of sheets, featuring delicate, fibrous strokes in curved patterns. Their green hues are not uniform, as the light’s intensity affects the concentration of chlorophyll in each section.

  • 🐜Ant Movement

120760.jpg

The movement of an ant IPFS Video

An ant moves along the garden path, climbing onto a dry leaf; it seems to be searching for a small sugar factory using the scent radar from its antennae. Behind that, perhaps the ant is also on patrol, guarding against pests that could disrupt its food supply.

The Green Atmosphere of the Park

There were so many fascinating natural moments that I managed to capture and observe while in this miniature world of nature—a place I pass by every day yet often overlook—and it turns out that observing the subtle movements of nature truly adds new experiences, lessons, and joy to my life.

Thank you to @muzack1 for initiating this refreshing "Art of Observation" challenge, and I’d love to invite @ikwal, @fajrulakmal99, and @miftahulrizky to participate in this challenge and experience a different sensation.

What you’ve shown is fascinating—you can even see the ants and the veins of the leaves very clearly. The ants, in particular, are truly fascinating; there’s a path they’ve made. The atmosphere is very pleasant, creating a vibe that makes you feel happy when you’re there.
