SLC31-W2: Shop & Share Challenge - Visit a Supermarket or Mini Market

Shopping for daily necessities is a routine activity for every family. In this regard, my wife and I are in the habit of shopping for daily necessities at various stores, and one of our favorite convenience stores is Indomaret, a franchise chain that has expanded widely across various regions in Indonesia.
Why Choose Indomaret
Well, the Indomaret store I’d like to highlight this time is unique because of its location on a busy thoroughfare between office buildings and schools—a spot where this mini-market seems to act as a lifesaver amidst people’s hectic schedules. Indomaret Cut Nyak Dhien isn’t just a place to grab something and go; this mini-market offers a highly efficient shopping and relaxation experience.

With its neatly arranged indoor and outdoor seating areas, Indomaret Cut Nyak Dhien deserves to be called a great spot for a snack, because in addition to providing various kitchen staples such as rice, cooking oil, eggs, and more, this mini-market offers added value with a menu of coffee and tea beverages as well as warm bread.
Here is a list of prices for some popular snack products available at Indomaret Cut Nyak Dhien, such as:
| Product Name | Price (Rupiah) | Price (Steem) |
|---|---|---|
| Pocky | 9900 | 9.9 |
| Tango | 8900 | 8.9 |
| Nabati | 9400 | 9.4 |
| Oreo | 10500 | 10.5 |
| Good Time | 11000 | 11 |

Promotion
Indomaret always has attractive promotional programs for customers, covering everything from basic necessities and household goods to snacks. The types of promotions I often see at Indomaret include:
- Super Hemat, a biweekly promotion for basic necessities and household goods.
- JSM (Jum'at, Sabtu, Minggu), a promotion held on weekends, often for food and beverages.
- Product of the Week (POTW), a special promotion for selected products that changes every week.
In addition, Indomaret also offers a Cheap Redemption program, which comes as a pleasant surprise to customers. Customers can qualify for this program after purchasing products up to a certain price point, at which point they are offered the chance to purchase other items at below-market prices.
Shopping Experience
So that morning, my wife and I took the kids to their school, and after that I took my wife to the Indomaret on Cut Nyak Dhien Street to get some bread and drinks for breakfast. We arrived at the Indomaret, and I went over to the Say Bread section, where I chose a Choco Croissant. Then I went over to Point Coffee to order a Rose & Roselle Cold drink.

My wife and I took a seat in the outdoor seating area, where several sets of tables and chairs were neatly arranged. We chose a table in a corner near the street so we could feel the breeze more clearly; the sound of passing vehicles filled our ears, and the view of the surrounding buildings and trees set a cheerful mood for the day ahead.

Business Strategy
Indomaret’s marketing and service concepts are highly appealing, particularly its strategy of providing spaces where customers can enjoy the food and beverages they’ve purchased. This approach effectively encourages people to linger in the mini-market, thereby driving increased sales—as we know, people today prefer convenience and practicality. I believe this strategy could be implemented at every existing Indomaret location.

YES, the Indomaret brand is now well-known among many people, but in my opinion, as a point of comparison, local business owners could adopt the practices applied in today’s modern society by providing supporting facilities for customers—though on a smaller scale according to their capabilities. These could include installing air conditioning, simple seating in front of the store, or perhaps background music. However, the primary draw remains the quality of service and cleanliness.

Thank you to @josepha for organizing this exciting challenge. I’d also like to invite @ikwal, @fajrulakmal99, and @miftahulrizky to take part in this challenge.

Review/Grading
Review:
"Indomaret” is a great place for people to shop from and being a beautiful place gives the supermarket an edge over others. Having a well-known supermarket in places boost confidence between customers and the restaurant.
