SLC31-W2: Shop & Share Challenge - Visit a Supermarket or Mini Market
Last month, before I took my child back to the boarding school, I stopped at Suzuya Peunayong in Banda Aceh. I chose this supermarket because it is one of the most complete and comfortable places to shop in the city. The location is also strategic and easy to access, especially when you are in a hurry but still need many items.
Do I think a supermarket should be more popular than a local store? My answer is yes and no. Supermarkets like Suzuya are more complete and comfortable. However, local stores are still important because they are closer to the community and usually faster for small purchases. Both have their own advantages.
When I entered the store, I saw that the place was clean, bright, and well-organized. Each section was clearly labeled, so it was easy to find what I needed. There were many kinds of products, from daily necessities, snacks, drinks, to personal care items. The shelves were full, and everything looked neat.
I bought several items for my child’s needs in the boarding school. I purchased instant noodles, snacks, milk, toiletries, and some small daily supplies. The prices were quite reasonable. For example, I bought a pack of snacks for around Rp10,000 and a box of milk for about Rp18,000. The prices are not the cheapest, but they are still affordable considering the comfort and completeness of the store.
My shopping experience was good. Even though the store was quite crowded, especially near the cashier, the staff worked quickly. The queue moved smoothly, and the employees were helpful when I asked about some products. The atmosphere inside the store felt modern and comfortable.
In my opinion, Suzuya can improve by adding more cashier counters during busy hours. This will help reduce long queues. They can also offer more promotions or discounts to attract more customers. Overall, the business is already strong, but small improvements can make it even better.
