Banded Darter Dragonfly
Another interesting dragonfly that I found in the wood is a banded darter dragonfly (Sympetrum pedemontanum) that belongs to the family Libellulidae. This dragonfly was a bit quiet hanging in the twig which allowed me to have some distance shots. Like most members of the genus, this dragonfly have a red abdomen that similar size to the black Sympetrum danae. The most interesting part of this dragonfly is that the colors on the hind and front wings.
