Sawfly (Symphyta)

Sawfly (Symphyta) is another species of flies that is often seen visiting flowers or vegetation spots. I found this fly around the hill a little while ago. I only spotted this single fly flying here and there, running away by the time it sensed something approaching. Besides, it is a tiny insect, and moving fast was another problem in taking a shot with a smartphone. So things had been learned, when I faced such a situation, I had to allow myself to be away while keeping eyes on the subject, which I believe, most of the insects would come back to the spot where it first touched. Right! Not long after that, it came back with careful moves. There, I carefully approached while aiming the camera toward its face. Sawflies are related to bees, wasps, and ants (in the order Hymenoptera). They go through four stages in their life cycle – egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The larvae look similar to caterpillars or, in some cases, tiny worms.
