A Sunny 🌞 Sunday!……..North Cascade Wanderings

Happy blessed Sunday to you! It was a sunny 🌞 one here. Our day began at church where we experienced worship and a great sermon. They announced again about the ladies event this coming Saturday. I registered myself and my newly widowed friend I’ve been visiting recently. I was happy she wanted to come. She needs to get out with people.

Once home, some house chores and then out to the garden. I didn’t take any pictures of what I was planting as it was somewhat hot and I wanted to get as much done as I could before I’d have to stop. I burn easily in the sun so I’ve learned to stop before it’s too late (most of the time 😏)

I tilled the soil in my raised bed garden by hand and got the weeds out. I then planted 2 types of green beans, 5 dahlias and some sunflowers. If I can move tomorrow, I have more dahlias and more seeds to plant. Once I put up my garden supplies, I went to retrieve the Amazon package in the ‘deliveries’ box at the road and on the way back, heard the bees 🐝 buzzing.

If you remember my post from a couple of days ago, I mentioned that the Bloodgood Japanese Maple tree would be buzzing soon with bee 🐝 activity because of the tiny flowers it has. It’s buzzing!

The very first picture is of the brilliant orange/yellow azalea almost in bloom. This next one is of the first blooms of the rhododendron near the house.

This flower is just beginning to emerge. Every year, these grow near the utility pole housing our entrance cable. When in full bloom, they are delicate and very purple. Google calls it Centaurea montana, also known as a perennial corn flower.

I searched my archives looking for one in bloom from previous years. Found it!

The bumblebees 🐝 love this! I’ve got several coming up. I’ll keep tabs and share more pictures later.
