Happy Mother’s Day! 💐…….North Cascade Wanderings
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I hope your day was lovely and memorable! 💐
Our day began at church. The worship and sermon were perfect. Once services were over, all the moms headed outside to collect flowers. They’d set up a display of many kinds of flowers to choose from. I chose the rose with baby’s breath. We were told to take as many as we wanted but I wanted just the single rose. 🌹
Once home, a couple of things around the house and then it was off to Boulevard Park down at Bellingham Bay! I figured the close parking would be at a premium and I was right! We ended parking above the park on the road and hiking down to the park. Lots of people for sure!
One of the things I love when we visit is crossing the railroad tracks.
I love the anticipation of a train and today was not a disappointment! We had 3 of them! 😎 We’d no sooner crossed them and descended a staircase than I could hear it coming! We turned back and headed up the staircase just before the crossing gate dropped.
It was a super long train pulled by multiple engines and pushed by two more in the back. It was noisy and fast moving! I loved it!
There it goes, heading north.
We descended the staircase once again and began hiking the boardwalk. Once again, I have tons of pics and will share them over the could the next few days.

We hiked almost to Fairhaven, but turned around as we were both wanting a coffee. ☕️
Alfred was hanging out in multiple places. He’s enjoying the sunny weather floating along on the small waves.
The Zodiac-a ‘tall ship’ was out for its Mother’s Day luncheon cruise. I’d spied it earlier, but its sails were down. Once lunch was finished, they unfurled the sails to tour the bay before heading for port.
Google it for more information!
Shore pines are the pine trees growing throughout the area. They are stocky with about 2” needles. Their bark can bee somewhat gnarled and scale-like. They’re a lovely tree.
Time for refreshment at the Woods coffee house. Today’s drink was their mocha frappe-cold and lovely while sitting outside by the sea!
It’s been a lovely and refreshing Mother’s Day for me. I’d wanted to go to Boulevard Park to see the sights and breathe the salt air. Plus, my best friend-@silvertop was there to spend it with me! 🥰
My steps for today:
That’s gonna be it for today. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

BSB Psalm 23:1-6
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
