AS IMPORTANT AS A GIRL CHILD IS

How was it possible for some culture, tradition, and religious groups to play down on the importance of a girl child? I am glad we are gradually out of such a myopic sense of sight and want you to read patiently to have your say too after the views of different religious groups captured in this write-up

Hello ladies and gentlemen, permit me to stand and support the more, which says that “a girl child is important just as the boy child” it's my quote anyway. However, I come from a culture that consciously placed women as weaker vessels. Even religious communities such as Christianity in 1 Peter 3:7 support this position. Islam, on the other hand, in Quran 4:34, describes men as having “qawwamun” meaning the protector, maintainer, and provider. While Paul stated in the context that “women should be silent in church” does not mean that they are not of equal right before God. See what Qur'an 33:35 says “Men and women are equally rewarded for faith and good deeds.” Although the Quran 2:228 agrees that men have higher degrees over women. I will put all of this based on the context and the situation of that time when the writers wrote down.

Other religions like Judaism ✡️ coming from the patriarchal setting in terms of authority exalt the men in all affairs over women as seen in Genesis 3:16; Numbers 30:3-16. In the Manusmriti 5.148; 9.3 of Hinduism shakes hands with the earlier, giving the guardianship of women in the hands of the males. Confucianism in the Book of Rites is not different from the two mentioned (Judaism and Hinduism), relating to the same patriarchal authority in every family over the women.

But the Baha’i Faith recognizes the equality of women as God's creation. Abdu'l-Bahá, promotes the full “spiritual equality of men and women.” Tattvartha Sutra 10.21 of Jainism agrees with Baha’i on this position. We can still classify Sikhism and Buddhism under this school of thought.

From the above, the religious groups are not the sole problem. Like I had established that all of them wrote in context and the settings of their time. However, the interpretation of the scriptures and applications is what the society is living with today.

THE TREATS IN SOME RELIGIONS

In some religious communities, women and men sit with clear demarcation. Dividing the row of pews or sitting arrangements that women do not cross to where men sit and vice versa. Does this mean that they have different creators?

EDUCATION

I carefully studied in every burial program of a woman that was born around 19 30s to 50s that they were born in a time when women's education was not considered important. In this part of the world, they concluded that “women's education ends in the kitchen”. But today, we have women who are professors and are doing very well academically.

LEADERSHIP ROLE

From the cultural settings and famous religious groups we have sampled above, it is clear that women are seen to be incapacitated for leadership positions. The equality placed on women is based on spirituality and creationism. I am glad that the world is changing. We have female presidents in Australia, Croatia, and other places, but we are yet to have one in Africa. Not even a governor is female in my country.

THE PAINFUL REALITY

Women can't even support their fellow women to compete with men in society. Many traditional laws and religions favor the men over the women. There are cultures in this part of the world that demand women to remain inside their homes for days until such cultural displays are over. Not mentioning the sad stories of divorced due to lack of male child in marriage.

See women as weaker vessels, subject them to several abuses both in marriage and outside. They are rape, marginalized, pushed into early marriages against their will, some family, and parents tend to decide for a girl child while the boys are free to do what they want.

MY SINCERE GIRL CHILD

This title “My Sincere Girl Child” is a book recently published by Ekomobong Isaac Nelson (a woman). A book that sparked her 2026 birthday anniversary. She didn't give me an invitation, but for the power of this title, when I saw it on social media, I made up my mind to suspend schedules and be a part of what is promoting the importance of a girl child.

At the Event and witnessing Birthday Cake Cutting - Scr Samsung A05

My arrival was late, but I enjoyed every part of the event from where I met them. The review of the book gives ways for every girl child to be sincere to themselves and determined to grow above all barriers and shine out the little guiding light in them. To the civilized nations, they are no longer struggling to position a girl child on the equality process of being what they can ever imagine. Nevertheless, some are still in the 7th century. Whether your religion tells you that women are weaker vessels, we need to apply to this present context where the privileged women are changing the world and being of great importance to both family and society.

The book encourages parents to take full responsibility for training every child the same. It's funny to see parents buying toys for their children, they will buy baby girl toys for the girl child and buy toy cars, bricks for the boy child. What is the picture here? Simple defining their destinations. Parents must paint a better picture to a girl child other than consistently pointing them to the kitchen, nursing children, and family runs.

The book has six chapters with subheadings, which chapter one is about understanding the girl child: Identity, Dignity, and Purpose. Two gives the Foundation and Sincerity and Good Character of a girl child. Chapter three is a call to Responsibility, Respect and Positive Relationship. In chapter four the author mentioned the Role of Education in Character Development while five is about Making Good Choices: Hard Work, Decision-making and Personal Growth while the last chapter anchors on Leadership, Legacy, and Building a Better Society.

In all, the book is challenging the girl child to be sincere with herself and grow to who the society will not ignore, rather than pursuing a feminine advocacy.

It was the best way to celebrate her birthday with the book launched that gathered men and women from different spheres of life. The political class, captains of industries and NGOs were there to meaningfully support her work for another volume of such a masterpiece.

Closing the Event with Gifts, including umbrellas, entertainment and photographs

She was able to gather female youths and teenagers from her former schools and church and gave them the best gifts of their lives. They were also empowered with school materials, including umbrellas 🌂 for the rainy season. This gesture was telling the girl child that education is the first step, whether it rains or shines, go to school.

The occasion witnessed birthday cake cutting and party donations, presentations of gifts, entertainment, photographs, and departures.

FINALLY WORDS

I am only a boy in the midst of 3 girls. As the first born, my sisters have been of great support to me. No parents should prioritize the training of boys and ignore the girls. Your culture tells you it must be a boy, but God gives children. We have witnessed divorce owing to the lack of no male child (this is barbaric) in the 21st century. Every child is what you want the child to be, not necessarily the gender, the sex but the training.

THAT GIRL CAN BE WHAT A BOY CAN. ALWAYS REMEMBER A GIRL CHILD IS IMPORTANT
