Sometimes all you tend to see is what is right in front of your………..☺️
Like the clear cut logging at the top of Silvertop’s street!😮
Slowly but surely, new plants are coming back, like the pink wildflower you see in the second photo!😊
I know….. I can hear you now………..
Silvertop, it will take years for the forest to grow back!🤔
Yes it will, but trees in the Pacific Northwest tend to grow much faster than in other parts of the Country!😇
Fast forward to PEPE in the fifth photo……..
See the tree stump PEPE is standing in, and the other tree stumps nearby?
This photo, and the next few photos were taken in a section of Sumas Mountain that was completely clear cut!
My green friend decided to join Silvertop for an afternoon hike on the Gold Mine Trail!🐸
The forest is peacefully quiet on this trail.
Except for the occasional “Nice day, enjoy your hike”, when you pass a fellow hiker!😇
Young Douglas Fir, and Western red Cedar seedlings were planted here, just like the loggers planted on the clear cut at the top of Silvertop’s road!😊
After the first year or so of growth, you can expect to see 2 to 3 feet of growth on these trees each following year….. it’s really quite amazing!☺️
