Both Arya and Fanny wanted to go to this statue in Amsterdam homomonument because this statue reminds them of love and they both loved each other very much. The world did not accept their friendship. Arya's parents did not like Fanny and Nafanny's parents liked Arya. The reason for this was that they did not belong to the same religion. Arya was Dutch and Fanny was Christian. This is the reason why the two were simply bound by the bond of friendship and their bond was growing on the basis of love. But since both of their families did not like them to meet, they would sit together near this statue and renew their friendship. But after some time, Fanny's health started to deteriorate and she had to be admitted to the hospital. Arya used to go to the hospital to meet her, but slowly Fanny's health continued to deteriorate and the doctors completely responded. There was a time when Arya was left completely alone and her Her friend left her alone in this world. From that day to this, Arya sits under this statue in memory of her friend and remembers him and lights a candle in memory of their love. Seeing this, other people also express their love there by lighting candles.

I am a bit confused about the story. It seems Fanny's parents like him as you wrote, just his parents do not like him.
Next you write one is Dutch which is a nationality and the other is Christian... Dutch people are most like Christians (there are many types of) or they do not believe in anything, which started since 1960.
Two different religions would be no longer an issue. The Dutch learned to respect unlike many other nationalities and most likely that is what is going wrong in the country. Advantages are taken and people are abused.
I remember how one grandmother used the saying: if there are two believes/religions on a pillow the devil sleeps inbetween.
The devil stands for endless fights since if people from think in the same way there will never be peace of mind. If it comes to it the average human is far from flexible and respectful.
