Mad dog
When it comes down to it, he’s a scared little dog, though alert and mad about hunting – or should I say, chasing and making life miserable for others? ‘Live and let live’ is a saying that clearly applies only to humans. No dog pays any attention to such nonsense. For animals, it’s always survival of the fittest!
So when I’m sitting on the concrete, painting a green border along the outside wall, the wolf comes over to play with me (nothing beats running off with the paint bucket, pulling away the cardboard, rolling about against the wall and tugging at the boss’s ear – who doesn’t appreciate it and is waving a paintbrush about…).
Fun? The little beast can’t appreciate that. The only one allowed to enjoy freedom and joy is him. The coward barks shrilly from a distance. No, there’s no defending him, but that wolf needs to learn that there are rules... The wolf? He laughs and certainly won’t let himself be chased away. He stands stock-still, looking at the mad dog with some irritation and yet also a touch of surprise... you can see him thinking: what on earth is that? Why is it making so much noise?
The crazy animal stands at a safe distance, still pondering the matter, but has since taken to his heels. A hare or a pheasant would be much more fun.
