I hope you are all doing well. I am also doing well, Alhamdulillah.

Today I am going to share a photograph of a leafhopper with you.

When I found this insect, it was roaming on this guava leaf. I was overwhelmed with joy when I found it, and quickly brought my phone from the house and started photographing it.

This insect was sitting very calmly on the branch. I took as many photographs as I needed and liked. I am afraid to take photographs from close up. Even then, I conquer my fear and take photographs of insects. When I zoom in to photograph insects, I feel like the insects are going to land on my hand, so I push that fear away and do my work.

This insect appears to be a shieldback katydid (family Tettigoniidae).

Its small or absent wings suggest that it is probably in the nymphal (immature) stage.

These insects are often called bush crickets and are known for their long trunks and leaf-like camouflage.
