My article today is about the feeling of God's creation.

Even today, it is a common practice in our society that after someone dies, a crowd of mourners gather at the house of the deceased for three days. The debate is not whether prayers should be offered or not, but the bitter reality is that from the time the soul enters the house of the poor to the time the soil is poured on the grave, thousands of rupees are spent on "food and drink". The grieving family is burdened with the grief of the deceased as well as the burden of debt.

A village in Punjab has changed this custom and created a new history.

When the funeral of a poor person reached the funeral home and the rows were arranged, the Imam addressed the participants and made a heartbreaking announcement:

​"This deceased, whose funeral we are about to offer, was the sole provider and support of his family. Among the mourners is only a widow and small children. During the days of iddah, they have no source of income. Therefore, a sheet has been laid at the main entrance of the funeral home. Whoever is able to give, without showing off, for the sake of Allah, from one rupee to as much as he can according to his status, should put it there."

​After the funeral, when the money was collected from the sheet, it was more than one hundred thousand rupees. Some had 10 rupees, some had 100, but this shared sympathy provided financial comfort for the orphaned children for several months.

​Condolence is not just about raising hands and praying, but also about being a practical support in times of sorrow.

Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that if someone plants a plant and it benefits a human, bird or animal, then the planter will continue to receive its reward. The easy path to heaven lies in serving God's creatures.

If we give just one biscuit for breakfast to the ants, it can feed thousands. If we keep a morsel of food for the birds, it can receive the prayers of many birds.

Let's revive this tradition in every village and city. Whenever there is a funeral of a poor person who was the sole breadwinner of the family, instead of talking about his life for five minutes, the scholars there should announce, "Give your share for the children of the deceased." So that this family can be saved from financial distress and this act of yours becomes a continuous charity for you.
