To capture a clear moving scene, I went to the busiest roundabout in my town, Akwanga, and captured the movement of cars, van, motorcycles, and people.

In the video, everything that was being captured was moving, which was my intention from the beginning. I intended to follow up with the big van that carried goods, but the speed of the van, the motorcycles, the vehicles, and the people that kept coming couldn't allow me to follow the van.

The film became interesting when other people kept moving on the scene both towards my direction and opposite my direction. This makes everything interesting as I thought it would be.

I chose this location because it is a strategic location where any vehicles, cars, or motorcycles are entering into Akwanga or exiting Akwanga from Makurdi, Jos, Abuja, and Wamba, which are often used. It is one of the busiest roundabouts in the town that links the town to other places which I chose to share online to show how my town is.

I was feeling like a journalist, video editor, and a good content creator when I was recording this, which was to create a busy moment about daily life activities.

The movement, helps tell a story a lot of emotion as well. It tells that when you're being found on a highway, especially in Africa, you need to obey the traffic for your safety, and that when you're riding on a motorcycle, or small vehicles, you need to obey not only the traffic but the movement of other vehicles especially big vehicles.

At the time, the van was passing all other vehicles including motorcycles, which had to clear the road for the van to pass freely because it would be dangerous for any vehicle to try to overtake the van It became so emotional for the motorcycle riders that they parked for a while so the van could pass freely.

Post: @josepha — "CineAtlas 60 | Week 5 - Movement Scene | [Akwanga Roundabout]"

Evaluation Summary (Week 5)

Criteria (Rubric /10)ScoreShort Comments
1) Weekly rule respected (Movement Scene + 20–60 sec + required links) / 32.8 / 3.0All main required elements are present. The busy road scene clearly makes movement the heart of the film.
2) Story clarity & creativity / 21.6 / 2.0The concept is clear and relevant. The traffic-based idea works well, though it remains fairly simple.
3) Video execution (framing, stability, focus, visual impact) / 21.5 / 2.0The traffic movement creates energy and realism. Minor deduction because the scene feels more observational than cinematically shaped.
4) SteemAtlas pin quality (relevant description + correct location) / 10.9 / 1.0The pin is present and the location is clearly linked to the movement concept.
5) Presentation (photos, clean structure) / 10.8 / 1.0The post is clear and readable, though the presentation is a bit lighter than stronger entries.
6) Engagement (Shot Breakdown comments on others) / 10.8 / 1.0Two comment links are included, meeting the basic requirement.

Final Score: 8.4 / 10

General Comment

A solid Week 5 entry with a clear and effective use of everyday road movement. The roundabout is a good location choice because it naturally creates constant motion and activity. The concept works well, though the video would feel stronger with more deliberate framing and a more cinematic visual approach.

The truck shown in the video is driving very dangerously at the beginning. He is transporting goods in the truck beyond his control. This truck can get into danger at any time while traveling on dangerous roads.

You're right. The driver seems to be a bit Rickles. Thanks for your support.

Yes, everything is moving in your video according to the theme of the contest. I am sure you have captured everything moving inluding your hand in the end.

Yes my hand was captured at the time I was trying to cross the road. Thanks for your support.
