Cur8 games log - Space Shooter
🚀 Space Shooter — Play Log
First Impressions
Today I'm trying out Space Shooter, one of the many games on cur8.
Plane and shooter games just hit different. There's something about dodging bullets and blasting enemies that never gets old — and Space Shooter delivers exactly that kind of rush.
Right on the start screen, there's an upgrade shop. Sounds great, right? Except you need at least 50 coins to buy anything. I checked my wallet: 45 coins. Five coins short. Not even close enough for the cheapest upgrade.
So I went in completely raw. No shields. No firepower boost. Nothing.
They say a true pro doesn't need upgrades to survive. I told myself that to feel better. Let's see how that went.
Into the Battle
From the very first second, this game does not ease you in.
Enemies flood in from every direction. Bullets stream across the screen like laser rain. It's loud, it's fast, and it's absolutely overwhelming if you're not ready for it.
I did manage to collect some gems mid-run, which are used for upgrades. But honestly, between dodging and shooting, there was barely a moment to breathe — let alone think about strategy.
I was just trying to stay alive.
Boss Fight: Hydra 🐉
Then came the Hydra.
Multi-headed. Aggressive. Shoots in patterns that are hard to read when you're already panicking. This boss is clearly designed to punish under-prepared players — and I was the most under-prepared player possible.
I gave it everything I had. It wasn't enough.
Today's Result
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| 💀 Final Score | 20,873 pts |
| 📅 Previous Season Best | 478,566 pts |
That gap is honestly embarrassing to look at.
478,566 vs 20,873. That's not even close. Back then, I must have had a solid coin stash and fully upgraded everything before diving in. That version of me was playing a completely different game.
Today's version of me got demolished by a boss with too many heads.

The Honest Truth
Coins matter. Upgrades matter. Going in unprepared against enemies that scale in difficulty is basically a death wish.
Space Shooter is one of those games that looks fun and casual on the surface — and it is! — but the moment you fall behind on upgrades, the difficulty spikes hard and fast.
No coins = no upgrades = no chance against Hydra. Simple as that.
What's Next
The grind starts now.
Complete quests, earn coins, and rebuild the upgrade stack before jumping back in. There's no shortcut here — just patience and consistency.
Once I'm properly geared up, I'm coming back for that Hydra. And next time, I won't be going in with 45 coins and a prayer. 🚀

Hey, don’t stress the “no upgrades = no chance” idea too much 😄🚀 In Space Shooter, early upgrades definitely help, but they’re not actually required to survive . Plus, every 3 levels you get a free shop anyway. Try treating it like training runs: go in raw, focus on surviving cleanly to that first shop, and everything after that becomes way more manageable. If you can consistently reach it without upgrades, you’re already scaling faster than the difficulty curve 💪🐉
