What kind of Offbeat Landmarks have you visited? Briefly introduce yourself.
As a curious explorer, I visited the Upazila Complex Mosque, which is a famous mosque. It is very old and widely popular among people as a place of worship because it is situated in a location where many people from far and wide visit every day for their work at the Upazila Parishad.
This mosque is located within the Sitakunda Upazila Parishad complex. An Upazila Parishad is a government site where various activities like land surveys, national ID cards, and document-related tasks are completed. It remains open throughout the day and is closed from night until the Fajr prayer.

How were the activities, services and facilities at this place?
Here, worshippers perform their five daily prayers. It is a very old and famous mosque. Many people recognize it as soon as the name is mentioned. This is because people from different parts of a large Upazila like Sitakunda come here daily for government services, and this mosque was built for them.
The mosque was built a long time ago so that people coming to the Upazila offices for various tasks could perform their prayers. It is a beautiful two-story building structure. Since it was built long ago, the exterior paint appears somewhat faded.

The design of the mosque is very minimalistic and beautiful. From the front, the structure features many windows and is protected by glass. It is evident that these windows facilitate constant airflow inside the mosque, maintaining a cool atmosphere even in the heat.
Right in front of the mosque is a wide walking road that stretches north to south. Walking along this path leads to the government offices where people come for services. There are several paths to reach the mosque; from what I saw, I noticed four separate roads.

To me, the area surrounding the mosque felt the most beautiful. At the front corner on the right side of the building, there is a large tree. I don't know the name of the tree, but the lower portion is painted white. The shade of the tree keeps the path in front of the mosque completely shaded.
Right in front of the mosque is a massive pond. The banks of the pond are concrete roads, making the edges perfectly level, which makes the pond look quite wonderful. I noticed that in this summer season, while other ponds have almost dried up at the bottom, this pond is full of water.

The environment there felt very beautiful to me. There were air-conditioning facilities inside the mosque, and there is a separate external staircase to reach the second floor. No internal stairs were provided; since it is a very old mosque, it was initially a single-story structure, and the additional floor was added later.
I observed the areas around the mosque from the outside. Although I didn't get the chance to perform prayers because it wasn't prayer time and entry is restricted outside of prayer times, it can be said for sure that this mosque is situated in a very cool environment and is dear to everyone.
What did you learn about the history of that place?
Almost every person living in Sitakunda has to visit the Upazila office at some point for reasons like voter ID, birth certificates, land surveys, land deeds, or election-related work. I have been hearing about the history of this mosque since I was a child visiting this office.
The Sitakunda Upazila was formed many years ago, and this mosque was built considering the convenience of the worshippers coming to the Upazila for various tasks. One can tell how old the building is just by looking at its structure and external stairs. Since it is under government supervision, its establishment dates back to when the Sitakunda Upazila office was first formed.

Share your experiences of that place as a Curious Explorer.
Whenever I visit the Upazila office for any work, I visit the paved ghat of this pond and sit there to observe the surroundings. The main attraction of the mosque is this pond. Since one has to pass the roads around the pond to reach the land office, election office, and other government offices, the mosque easily catches the eye.
During my recent visit, I noticed that the entire mosque area was shaded because there are many large trees and gardens nearby. The shade of these trees kept the surroundings cool and covered. I also noticed that people coming for services at the Upazila office were relaxing in these shaded areas.
