One day ... I realized that I was running in the wrong direction

I always thought happiness was waiting for me elsewhere. In a better job. At a higher salary.

In greater achievement. I was postponing my feelings of contentment until I got to something I hadn't yet reached.

The closer you get to a goal, the more a goal appears. Until my life became a long chain of chase. I run ... but I don't feel like I've arrived. At one point, I asked myself a simple question: When was the last time I stopped to appreciate what I have now? I couldn't find an answer.

I realized that I was always looking at what was missing, until I became blind to the things that used to give my life meaning.

I forgot the people who stood by me. And I forgot the lessons that made me. And I forgot that I had dreams that I considered impossible in the past.

The problem was not that my life was free of blessings ... Rather, my eyes used to look at the distant more than close. Since that day, I have not stopped ambitious. But I stopped linking my happiness to what has not happened yet.

I learned to enjoy the road, not to live waiting for its end. Life is not a station we reach ... but a journey that we lose its beauty when we only see the remaining distance.

Perhaps ... the greatest thing a person can have, not to get everything he wants ... but to realize the value of what he has before he becomes just a memory.
"Sometimes we are not tired of the lack of things ... but we get used to them until we stop seeing them."
