Monday Was the Last Normal Day

It was the beginning of a normal Monday morning for a young man who woke up late and rushed to dress and eat. After breakfast, he left with his siblings. There were only about twelve days left before the current school year ended since his older brother was soon to graduate, when he was only starting his journey at school. Every morning, the two brothers would listen to music to make their mornings more enjoyable. He went inside, greeted the teachers in the hallway and headed to the study hall where there was nothing else to do other than play NFL games.

On his way to the second period, he found out that some people were talking about a new virus that broke out somewhere. It seemed pretty unimportant since he had not seen anyone discussions about that issue. During classes, the teacher lectured and most students whispered among themselves as class is as usual, which made this class more fun for him. He talked with his close friend Mason who was not exactly the best choice to be called a close buddy, but it was nice anyway. He asked if Mason heard anything about that virus, his friend said that he had not heard, so he explained to him what was going on, believing that it would be fine.

Third period passed and he had nothing better to do until his English class when they met with their terrible teacher Mrs. Bell, he hated her since she seemed to hate his class with all her heart. He expected to face some trouble from her today too, but she said that there was nothing to learn because something big was going on and she needed to see what happens. Students were happy. He looked at his phone and found out that some news about that virus said that this virus would cause problems in the whole country. Even thinking that, he saw that Mrs. Bell's face was turned towards him right before she opened her mouth to say something nasty. Luckily, the bell saved him.

Before the fourth period class, he checked his phone one more time and learned that this virus had already spread across Europe and was infecting the rest of the world through planes. Rumors came out saying that this virus turned human beings into animals, so a bit close to zombie movie style.

He could not believe that it was real until his classmate Tyler asked him if he had heard anything about it. Showing him a video, both he and Tyler became sure that it could happen. He said that they would talk about this topic after classes.

In the last part of the day, he thought that maybe it could get worse, so he decided that they could leave school to prepare for something like this. He shared this idea with Tyler who found it very clever and suggested that they bring more people into their plan, his girlfriend Lena, Tyler, and some Sky girl. On the next lesson when four of them suddenly asked to go to the toilet, another boy who really needed to go joined them. The teacher seemed to suspect something and let them all leave the class. Just at that moment, the speaker told them that due to this virus school will be let out early but it did not scare them. They all sneaked out through the nearest exit and started walking home.

About three miles was the distance to their houses and the way there took a lot of time. As they were talking about the virus, their stress level only grew higher. Tyler shouted that there were almost no cars left on the street. Looking at each other, they found that there was nobody on the roads except for them. About a mile from their houses, he received a message from his mother asking him why he did not attend school. Picking up his phone, he told her what he believed, but the lady started shouting until he asked her if she was okay because there was someone barking nearby. This made him scared. , Tyler disappeared from behind. Talking with their parents on the phone, they did not notice anything until someone yelled for Tyler. He replied with his cry that one of those creatures caught him. Strange noises of animals coming from his direction filled the air. They could do nothing but run, but something chased them and knocked him off his feet.
