Believers are admonished to be sober and vigilant because the adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking who to devour.
Being vigilant is about keeping yourself spiritually fit — not letting down your guard, not going on holiday from prayer, the Word, or your walk with God. The enemy doesn't wait for a convenient time to strike.
Today's devotion reminds us to stay spiritually alert and never take a break from prayer, the Word, or watchfulness, because that's exactly the moment the enemy looks for.
