My Day in Pictures: Football, Bread, Food and Music [14/07/2026]
I woke up early yesterday and decided to go to the field behind my house. The ground was dry and dusty, but that is how we play. I wore my boots and came with the ball. The picture I took shows the ball on the ground and my feet ready. We do not have a proper pitch, but we make do with what we have. Playing football on this kind of ground teaches you control because the ball does not move smooth. Still, it is fun and it keeps me active. After some minutes, other guys joined and we started a small game.

After the game, I went to see my brother at his bakery. He has been baking for some years now and he is doing well. On the table were many loaves of bread, all wrapped in nylon and arranged neatly. The smell in that place is always good. Fresh bread makes the whole area smell sweet. He told me business has been steady because people always need bread for breakfast and for snacks. I helped him carry some to the front and we talked about how to get more customers. Seeing the bread lined up like that reminded me that hard work pays, even in small things.

Later in the evening, I went to church for practice. One of our brothers was on the keyboard. He was sitting on a green plastic chair and playing soft. The keyboard was on a stand and the sound filled the hall. I like to watch him play because he makes it look easy. Music is a big part of our service and it helps people to connect. The drummer was also there setting up, and we were all getting ready for Sunday. Moments like this make me appreciate the talent around me. We may not have big instruments, but we use what we have to praise.

When I got home, I was hungry so I made food. I cooked egusi soup with some meat and made eba to go with it. I served it on a red plate and it looked good. This kind of meal is common in my house and I enjoy it a lot.

Before I slept, I walked around my area to get some air. The road was dusty and quiet. There were houses on one side and trees giving shade. The sky was cloudy but calm. This is the kind of place I grew up in, simple and peaceful. Life here is not always easy, but there is beauty in the small things. From football, to bread, to music, to food, to just walking around, each part of the day taught me something.

I am grateful for today and I look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
