What's in the milk these kittens drink
Look at those three little musketeers drinking their mother's breast milk like they don't even care what's going on. I finally giving all the three little kittens names. There is Flash the fastest and my favorite amongst all the three, then there is Fluffy the biggest, and then there is White Widow, obviously the white one with a little bit of black spots on it. Fluffy has already started eating fish and chicken, I'm yet to see the other two eat anything besides their mothers milk.
Speaking of the milk, while they were drinking I was wondering to myself what exactly were they drinking. I know it's breast milk and it's enough food for them but what's in that stuff and what makes it different from a cow's milk or a human mother's milk.
The milk is produced in the mammary glands of the mother cat. After doing my research, I found out what's in it. That milk has high levels of fat, protein and some antibodies which is very necessary for the kittens to grow well and to also develop their immune system. So as they're feeding like that, they're pulling all these nutrients from the mother. If the mother does not eat well, she's going to get more hungry.
When they're eating I see them pushing their paws against the mother's fur, I had to research about that as well and I found out that as they keep pushing their paws against the mothers fur, they are stimulating more milk to enter the edge of the mammary gland so they can suck it.

The milk they drink is the only way they can stay hydrated and is their only source of nutrients as little kittens. When they get older their body slowly loses the ability to process milk and it's also a matter of time and the mother will stop producing milk, the little kittens will move on to solid food and drinking water.
