Spreading Cancer Awareness During Hospital Rounds and Ending the Day with Unexpected Adventures
Greetings of the day,
This is @alfazmalek from #India,
Assalam-o-Alaikum friends,
Today was one of those days that started with routine work but slowly turned into a day filled with learning, unexpected moments, and beautiful scenes. My morning began as usual as I got ready and went to the hospital for duty. The weather felt normal, and while traveling to the hospital I was already thinking about the tasks waiting for me. Working in a hospital means every day brings different experiences even when the schedule seems similar. Some days become memorable because of small moments rather than major events, and today was one of them.
After reaching the hospital, I started my day with my regular morning round. I visited different areas and interacted with patients just like I do every day. During rounds I always try to observe not only the medical conditions of patients but also their concerns and emotions because many people in hospitals carry fear and uncertainty inside them. While moving from one patient area to another, I met several patients and family members. Many people become comfortable after talking for a few minutes and often start asking questions beyond their immediate treatment concerns. Communication sometimes becomes as important as medicine because people feel relieved when they understand what is happening around them.

While I was walking through the hospital, a few patients and attendants in the waiting area stopped me and started asking questions related to cancer. Initially one person asked a question, then another person joined, and within a few minutes several people became interested in the discussion. Instead of repeating the same information individually, I thought it would be better to provide education to everyone together. I started explaining basic information about cancer in simple language. I told them that cancer does not always happen due to a single reason because many factors can increase risk. I also spoke about early symptoms and the importance of regular checkups and timely diagnosis. During the discussion, I gave special attention to tobacco use because it is one of the major risk factors for several types of cancer. I advised them to stay away from tobacco products and explained that avoiding harmful habits today can protect health in the future. Many people listened very carefully and asked interesting questions. Seeing people actively trying to learn about health always feels satisfying because awareness itself can sometimes prevent future illness.
After completing work and spending a productive day in the hospital, evening slowly arrived. I went back to the office and spent some time there with colleagues. Work environments also need moments of relaxation because continuous work throughout the day can become mentally tiring. We played some games together and enjoyed the time. Simple activities like these may look small, but they create positive energy and improve teamwork. Laughter in the workplace often changes the atmosphere completely and refreshes the mind after a busy day. Those few moments helped remove the tiredness that had slowly built up during the day.
Later in the evening, I returned home expecting a normal and peaceful end to the day. However, something completely unexpected happened. I noticed that many people from the nearby society were standing outside and looking in one direction. There was noise and visible fear among the people. After looking carefully, I found out that a crocodile had appeared near the neighboring society. Most people were keeping their distance because they were scared, which was understandable because seeing a crocodile near a residential area is not something that happens every day. People were observing from a safe distance and discussing what should be done. While everyone was surprised and cautious, I also found the moment quite unusual because wildlife encounters in city surroundings are always interesting. From a safe distance I clicked a photo of the crocodile because it was definitely not an everyday sight. Sometimes nature suddenly appears where people least expect it, reminding us that humans and wildlife often share connected environments.
As the day moved toward night, the atmosphere became calm again. After sunset I looked around the city and noticed a beautiful scene outside. Darkness had covered almost everything, and only the lights from houses and buildings were visible from a distance. The bright windows and small lights looked like stars spread across the ground. I decided to capture a few photographs because the view felt peaceful and attractive. During daylight we often ignore ordinary surroundings, but at night even familiar places can appear completely different. Looking at those lights shining in the darkness made me think about how every home carries its own stories, emotions, and people spending time with their families. It was a quiet ending to a day that started with hospital rounds, continued with health education, surprised me with a crocodile sighting, and ended with the beautiful charm of city lights.
Thank you for reading my diary. See you all in the next post.
THANK YOU
