Our rooftop garden has a special charm of its own, and this beautiful Thai Hibiscus is one of the reasons why. Its soft pink and peach-colored petals, surrounded by fresh green leaves, create a wonderful combination of colors that instantly catches the eye. Every time I look at these flowers, I feel a sense of peace and happiness. The delicate petals may look fragile, but the plant continues to bloom beautifully, bringing a little piece of nature into our everyday life. The unopened buds also remind us that there is always something beautiful waiting to bloom. Growing flowers on the rooftop is more than just a hobby. It allows us to stay connected with nature even while living in a busy urban environment. In the middle of concrete buildings, a few green plants and colorful flowers can completely change the atmosphere. This Thai Hibiscus is a simple reminder that beauty does not always have to be found in extraordinary places. Sometimes, it is right above our heads, growing quietly on our own rooftop.
While walking beside the railway track, I came across a beautiful and unusual sight that immediately caught my attention. A tree growing naturally among the surrounding greenery was carrying plenty of green, nut-like fruits. I had never really noticed them so closely before, so I took out my mobile phone and captured this photograph. What fascinated me most was the number of these fruits growing together on the branches. Their smooth green outer surface and unique shape made them look quite different from the common nuts we usually see in markets. The tree was growing naturally beside the railway line, surrounded by leaves and other plants, creating a wonderful little scene of nature. Sometimes, the most interesting discoveries are not found in gardens or nurseries. They can be found beside a railway track, along a village road, or growing quietly in places where we usually do not pay much attention. This simple photograph reminds me that nature is full of surprises. We only need to slow down, look carefully, and appreciate the small wonders around us.
Dragon fruit is one of the most attractive and fascinating tropical fruits in the world. With its bright pink or red outer skin and green, leaf-like scales, it looks almost like a fruit from a fairy tale. Inside, the fruit contains soft, juicy flesh filled with many tiny black seeds, creating a beautiful contrast of colors. Dragon fruit is also known as pitaya and belongs to the cactus family. Although it originally comes from parts of Central and South America, it is now cultivated in many tropical and subtropical countries, including Bangladesh. The warm climate of Bangladesh is suitable for growing this unique fruit, and dragon fruit cultivation has become increasingly popular among local farmers. The first thing that attracts people to dragon fruit is its unusual appearance. The outer skin is usually bright pink or reddish, while the green scales extend outward like small leaves. When cut open, the inside reveals white, pink, or deep red flesh dotted with tiny black seeds. Its beautiful appearance makes it popular not only as a fruit but also as an attractive addition to fruit plates, desserts, juices, and smoothies.
The first photograph shows fresh Ambarella, locally known as Amra. It is a popular seasonal fruit in Bangladesh and is especially loved for its refreshing sour and slightly sweet taste. Ambarella usually has green skin when it is young and becomes more yellowish as it matures. The flesh is firm and crunchy, and it has a distinctive tangy flavor. Many people enjoy it simply with a little salt and chili powder. It can also be used to prepare chutney, pickles, juice, and other delicious snacks. One of the most enjoyable things about eating Amra is its combination of crunchiness, sourness, and freshness. During hot weather, its juicy and tangy taste can feel particularly refreshing. Ambarella also contains nutrients such as vitamin C, dietary fiber, and various plant compounds, making it a nutritious addition to a balanced diet. The second photograph shows a pumpkin, locally called Kumra. Unlike Ambarella, pumpkin is generally used as a vegetable in cooking, although botanically it is a fruit. Pumpkin is extremely versatile. It can be cooked in curries, mixed with lentils, prepared with other vegetables, or made into soups and mashed dishes. In Bangladeshi cuisine, pumpkin is commonly used in traditional vegetable preparations and is appreciated for its naturally mild sweetness. When cut open, a pumpkin reveals its beautiful yellow-orange flesh and a central cavity containing many seeds. The flesh becomes soft when cooked and absorbs the flavors of spices and other ingredients very well. Pumpkin is also a good source of fiber and several vitamins and minerals, including beta-carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A.
Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones. This photograph captures one of those ordinary yet memorable moments when I was busy working on my computer at home. While I was concentrating on my tasks, my daughter quietly picked up her mobile phone and took this picture without interrupting me. It has now become a special memory that I will always cherish. Working from home allows me to spend more time with my family while also focusing on my personal goals. Whether I am writing articles, organizing documents, improving my English, or learning new computer skills, every hour spent in front of the computer helps me grow both personally and professionally. The room may look simple, but it is a place where many ideas come to life. The computer, keyboard, and desk are more than just equipment—they are the tools that help me explore new opportunities, solve problems, and continue learning. Every small effort I make today brings me one step closer to achieving my future goals. What makes this photograph even more meaningful is that it was taken by my daughter. Without saying a word, she captured a natural moment of concentration and dedication. When I look at this picture, I do not just see myself working; I see the love and support of my family. It reminds me that success is not only about hard work but also about having people around you who appreciate your efforts. In today's digital world, computers have become an essential part of our daily lives. They allow us to communicate with people around the world, learn new skills, create content, and discover endless opportunities. Every new skill we learn today can become a valuable asset for tomorrow. This photograph also reminds me that learning is a lifelong journey. No matter our age or profession, there is always something new to discover. By staying curious and continuing to improve ourselves, we open the door to a brighter future.
