My Dairy: A Cozy Home Day With Good Food | 18th July 2026
Hey bestie, it’s your girl blessedi here again
Welcome back to my diary. I hope your day was beautiful.
Today was a proper home day for me. No rushing, no stress, just me, my house, and good food 😌 After that boring day yesterday, I decided today would be about rest and enjoying small things
I woke up around 9am. The weather was calm and cool, so I didn’t feel like going out at all. First thing I did was pray and check on my grasscutters. They’re doing fine now, especially the one that got hurt. She’s eating well and moving around. I thanked God for that because I was really worried.
After checking them, I cleaned inside the house a little. I don’t like when everywhere is scattered. I arranged my things, washed plates, and made the place fresh. Then I thought, "what am I going to eat today?"
I’ve been craving egusi soup for days. So I decided to make it. I started by grinding my egusi, pepper, and onions. The smell alone was making me hungry 😂 I fried the soup well with palm oil, stockfish, dry fish, and small meat. I made sure it was thick and tasty. Since I didn’t feel like pounding fufu, I decided to buy it instead. Lazy girl energy today, but it’s okay sometimes.
In the afternoon I ate the fufu with my hot egusi soup. Bestie, it was so delicious. The soup was rich and the fufu was soft. It filled me up and I felt so satisfied.
After eating, I just sat inside watching movies on my youtube I watched 3 movies back to back. One was a Korean drama that almost made me cry, and the other two were Chinese movies. They were so emotional and beautiful. The big screen made it feel like cinema at home. I had my fan on and zero disturbance. Perfect day.
By evening I was craving something small. So I went out quickly and bought roasted corn and coconut. Ahhh my favorite street snack! The corn was hot and sweet, and the coconut was fresh and watery. I came back home and ate the corn while still watching movies on my TV. It felt like a mini treat to myself. Bestie, corn + movie night is undefeated 💕
Later at night I just chilled, scrolled my phone, and thought about life. I realized that some of the best days are the quiet ones. Days where you cook for yourself, watch movies, eat what you love, and rest your mind.
Lesson from today:
You don’t always need to go out to enjoy your day. Home can be the sweetest place when you add good food and good movies to it. I also learned to treat myself small. That roasted corn and coconut in the evening made my day complete.
Tomorrow I pray for strength and maybe a little adventure, but today was perfect in its own way.
Question for my Steemit family
Do you prefer Korean, Chinese, or Nigerian movies? And what’s your favorite snack to eat while watching TV?
Thank you for reading my dairy. See you tomorrow.
