My Diary - 20th July 2026 | A Flex Monday with My Fiancé

Good evening everyone! Thank you for always reading my diary and supporting me. I appreciate you all. Today I want to share how I spent my Monday with my fiancé. I hope you enjoy reading it 😘

Today was one of those Mondays I’ll remember for a long time. A perfect mix of love, food, and laughter. I call it my “flex Monday” because everything just flowed nicely.

It started last night. My fiancé came around. I was already sleeping when I heard his voice at the door. I opened and my whole mood changed. We gist a little, laughed, and then I slept with peace knowing he was around.

This morning he didn’t let me sleep late o 😂 He woke me up very early and said “Babe, wake up make we start our day.” I was dragging my feet but he was already serious. The first thing we did was help me clean the grasscutter cage. That grasscutter is stressing me but he didn’t complain. He carried water, swept, and changed the sawdust while I was washing plates. Having someone that helps without being told is a blessing.

After the cage was clean, I entered the bathroom and took my shower. He took his own after me. We dressed up simple but neat - I wore my blue and white dress and he wore his shirt and trouser. We stepped out to the market to get cow meat. We didn’t buy plenty, just a little to prepare jollof rice. The market was busy but we were laughing and choosing the best meat together.

When we got home, he immediately went to feed the grasscutter again while I changed my dress to something comfortable for kitchen work. I went straight to the kitchen. Today’s menu was jollof rice and goat meat. Ahh I love my rice a little watery and he likes it too 😂So I made it just how we love it. I seasoned the meat well, fried it, and set the jollof to cook. The smell filled the whole house. Cooking for someone you love is sweet. We were playing music, gist, and stealing hugs in between

After the food was ready, we sat down and ate like kings and queens. It tasted so good. We were full, happy, and content. After eating, I felt so relaxed that I slept off for a while.

When I woke up, I switched on the TV and watched a Nigerian movie. You know those ones with plenty drama and village wahala 😂 We were commenting and laughing throughout.

Later in the evening, we decided to go out. We bath again, dressed up, and went to the Lounge. The atmosphere was calm. We sat down, ordered double black and some peppered meat. We gist about life, our plans, and just enjoyed each other’s company. No pressure, just peace.

When we got back home, I warmed the leftover jollof and goat meat. We ate small again before sleeping.

Today reminded me that happiness is in the little things. Cooking together, cleaning, laughing, eating, and just being with the person you love. God bless my fiancé for making my Monday special.
