The Diary Game: The Day I Waited For Light Like The Coming Of Christ
Expecting Light To Charge My Phone
Hello everyone, it's @demigodsms, love to share another episode about the day I waited for light to come. My phone battery was 3%, then it started flashing red and I started panicking. No power bank. Our generator has no fuel and NEPA was on their usual vacation. I plugged my charger into the socket and just sat there, looking at it. As if light will come. My charger was in the wall from the morning till afternoon. My phone finally went off, Screen went black. Silence.
Total Silent And Darkness
I was in total darkness. No TikTok. No WhatsApp. No Steemit. I can’t even check time. I felt so down. I went outside to sit. My neighbors were also outside. Everybody was waiting for light. Then One man brought out his small radio. We started listening to news like old people. I started thinking of all the people I needed to call. My mom called me in the morning and I said “I’ll call you back.” Now I can’t. My course rep might drop updates in the group chat. Even my client might send money. But my phone is dead, and I’m just here.
Finally My Expectation Came To Fulfillment
Finally I gave up and went inside to sleep. I kept the charger in the socket. I told myself, “If light comes midnight, at least it will charge small.” I slept, but I was not able to sleep well. Not too long Light came. I jumped up from bed like thief. I checked my phone. It came on, 0%. I plugged it fast. Charging sign showed. I smiled like I won lottery. I didn’t sleep again. I stayed awake and charged it to 45%. I replied my mom, replied messages, posted one Steemit comment. Then, NEPA took it again. But at least I was no longer on 0%. This is Nigeria. We wait for light like we wait for alert. Sometimes it comes. Sometimes nothing comes. But we survive. thank God for your life.
