Giving Corn Plants Room to Feed

Like I stated in my video, yesterday was about cost but today is about a good practice that I want to share with everyone on Steemit.

It's about maize or corn, however you choose to name them.

If you're ever involved in corn planting, it's best that you don't try to plant the seeds too densely together. Although I know you'll probably be working with limited land, the trick I want to teach you is in the gap between the stems themselves.

A typical good soil is filled with natural nutrients like nitrogen, but you have to understand that this nutrient is restricted per every small piece. The growing seed develops the system of roots that spread out as if it's trying to get that soil nutrients and moisture.

So what will eventually happen is that two close seeds will have their roots meet each other under the ground. Their biggest problem will be a struggle for the same water and nutrition.
Being restricted, the nutrients will never be enough for both stalks and the stronger stalk will definitely win while the weaker one will starve. So after some time you'll see some crops doing well and some failing.

Your harvest time would not be as exciting as you had imagined it if you don't do it right.

The distance you need to create at the very beginning of planting between the stalks creates the space that turns out to be individual kitchen (for the lack of a better word) for each stalk.

The right distribution of the stalks guarantees that all the root systems of the plants are supplied with enough of the soil volume. So the plants become healthier and stronger. Their leaves spread widely enough to absorb sun rays that is necessary for the plant to perform it's photosynthesis.

Overcrowding causes nothing else but mutual shading. The crop of the farm where the corn is planted properly will be higher yielding so long as all other things like getting the right seeds, nurturing the plants and using good efficiency techniques like the ones I've taught previously, are observed.

Cost like I talked about yesterday is also something this technique will help you with.
The farmer, taking into account the planting distance, saves the cost of fertilizers since they act individually on each stalk.
