I predicted they'll take these leaves before I do 😔

I have been following the growth of this particular plant, the wild lettuce, and wrote a couple of blogs about it. I had the feeling the women in the compound will notice it eventually when it's grown enough and will take it before I can use it.

It happened exactly so, anyone that sees the usefulness of something and if it's for free, then they'll probably take it if you don't.

For women, the use of this very plant is an old tradition that has nothing to do with trends and fashions, but is rather based on effectiveness. I did say I wouldn't eat this but apparently they prepare soups and other dishes from the leaves of the plant, which contain lots of different vitamins, and although their taste may not be considered the best by many including myself, the bitterness proves the efficacy of the plant's effects.

Two ladies who were not even living in the compound but visit most of the time plucked it. I saw them doing it but I couldn't do much because it's actually free for all, no owner.

But adding it to food is not all they do.

The leaves are also brewed into a concoction that can relieve pain caused by diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and hypertension. I even talked about this use in the previous blog about it.

So for those that use it there is no need for visits to the pharmacy or prescriptions, everything is based on nature and simple methods of cooking.

And also body pains and insomnia can be treated with the help of the plant. Leaves are used again for the purpose but this time, their application might seem unusual, since you would never guess that the plant that grows by the road can deal with such health problems. As for the stem, its whitish sap is applied to the skin immediately after the they crush it, they use it to relieve pain Again, no pills, no packages, it's just an absolutely natural therapy.

This is a working system and the fun part is since you're not paying, you're not paying tax for that too, which was how the ancient people used to live.
