To have coconut trees in your house

I was walking in my neighborhood last night and I saw this house with coconut trees properly planted and well grown. I was so impressed because that means they're getting free coconuts and whatever nutrients.

This is exactly what happens when you grow your own fruits or vegetables in your home. I love flowers, I love plants but I think it's much better to plant something you'll get food from than just decoration. The coconut tree is serving both values at the same time.

It was in the night and so I couldn't get clear bright shots, I was also shy so I took three and quickly walked away because people were watching.

It is strange for a young girl to be taking shots of a coconut tree than taking selfies of herself apparently. That's the world we have now.

One thing is that the coconut trees are useful for survival. The liquid keeps you hydrated, the meat has calories and it cools the ground below the tree. Besides that, the household gets shade if they want to be in the compound in the hot afternoon.

There's another usefulness, the leaves are used to make brooms and roofs. Thinking about all the advantages I'll try to convince my Dad and Mom to have coconut in our house. We already have plantain trees but it'll be cool to add coconut. However, dad has plans of building there so I doubt he'll agree.

But that is how they are useful. No expenses, no maintenance, no trips to the store for some coconut.

But there are drawbacks or responsibilities to having something good.

A falling coconut is not good. It makes the compound dirty with the pieces and it can fall hard so if you had a car and it falls on the windscreen, you're definitely not going to be happy. The best thing is either pick the coconuts regularly or don't keep your car parked under it

The coconut tree takes time to grow, years. You plant it and have to wait. It takes space to grow and takes a lot. So it's a long time investment but just be smart.
