The Diary game. Better life with steem. A Day Well Spent: Work, Friends, and Family. 05/08/2026
I woke up early in the morning and began my day by offering Fajr prayer. As Muslims, prayer is an obligation for us, and starting the day with prayer brings peace, positivity, and a sense of calm that stays with me throughout the day.
After finishing my prayer, I did some exercise and worked up a good sweat. Exercising helps me stay fit, active, and energetic, making it easier to carry out my work without feeling tired or sluggish.
Next, I had my breakfast. I finished it quickly because these days I have to reach the office before time. An administrative inspection is expected in the coming days, so it is important for everyone to be punctual and avoid any chance of embarrassment due to arriving late.
When I reached the office, I greeted everyone with Assalamu Alaikum before going to my cabin and starting my work. We have to process payments for several work bills in the coming days, so we began preparing the bills. The payments are made online through the government treasury system, which means the payment initiation also has to be completed online.
Our work depends heavily on this government portal, and unfortunately, the system does not always run smoothly. Since all payments have to be processed through a single login, multiple logins are not allowed. If multiple logins were available, work that currently takes four to five hours could easily be completed in just two or three hours. While waiting for the system to function properly, I completed the remaining filing work and continued with the bill preparation.
In the evening, after leaving the office, I saw my childhood friend travelling in someone else’s car on his way home. I called him and found out that he had left his own car at a workshop for repairs. I went to meet him there. Spending time with him is always special because we have been friends since childhood and still spend most of our free time together.
The car repairs took quite some time, and while waiting, I had a cup of tea at a nearby hotel. After that, we started our journey back home together. On the way, we stopped for a glass of lassi because the weather was very hot and we were both hungry. Sharing that refreshing drink made the journey even more enjoyable.
After reaching home, I rested for a while, freshened up, and had another cup of tea. Later, I accompanied my mother to one of our orchards because she had some work there. We also grow a few vegetables in that orchard, so she wanted to take care of them.
The view of the apple trees was truly amazing. The apples have started developing their beautiful colour, and some varieties are now fully mature and ready for harvesting. I enjoyed eating a few fresh apples straight from the orchard while also enjoying the cool breeze flowing through the trees.
As it got late, we started our journey back home. On the way, we stopped at my maternal grandmother’s house because it was on our route. My mother spent some time with her mother, and I also sat with my grandmother for a while, chatting with her before we continued our journey home.
We finally reached home at around 9:30 p.m. After freshening up, we had dinner together. Later, I relaxed for a while, scrolled through social media, watched a few reels, and then went to bed, bringing another productive and memorable day to an end.
