The Diary Game: [4/05/2026] Making Electrical Installations, Helping Out With Bush Clearing, and Relaxing at Home
Today started a bit earlier than expected. A friend called me up in the morning, sounding like he needed urgent help with some electrical installations. I didn’t even think twice, I just grabbed what I needed and rushed over, leaving my own chores hanging in the balance. Sometimes life just demands that kind of response. He was even surprised how fast I responded, and I finished everything before he even realized.

After sorting things out for him, I made my way back home, already thinking about the tasks I had left behind. So as I reached, I picked up the broom, swept through the house, polished the floor till it had that clean shine, and then moved on to washing the car. It felt good getting things back in order. Just when I thought I was done, I heard a voice from the backyard calling out to my name. It was my mom. She insisted I joined her in clearing out a space in our backyard that had been neglected for a while. She agreed she won't send me anything again throughout the day if I completed this one task. It wasn’t the easiest task, but there’s something satisfying about transforming a messy space into something decent again. By the time we finished, I could honestly say it was a job well done.

After that, I took a well-deserved shower and headed to the kitchen to fix something simple for myself and my brother. I made Beans and garri, nothing fancy, but it really did hit the spot.

While eating, we somehow drifted into a conversation about movies we had watched over the years, trying to remember one that would still feel just as interesting if we watched it again. After a long thought, we eventually settled on Legend of the Seeker. But before we even got deep into it, we found ourselves talking more than watching, sharing memories about the characters we loved, the scenes that stuck with us, and even the time in our lives when we first saw it. It was funny how the movie didn’t just bring back its storyline, but also reminded us of moments from years ago. That’s when it really hit me that some things, like movies, carry memories we didn’t even realize we had stored away.
We were about three hours in when reality interrupted, and it happened that our phones were almost dead. Since that was our “cinema,” we had no choice but to pause and step out to charge our devices. We stayed out there for a while until everything was fully charged.
On our way home, we ran into a friend sitting at a fine restaurant. He waved us over and insisted we join him. One thing led to another, and that unexpected stop became our dinner for the night. Finally, we strolled back home, tired but fulfilled. I took one last shower to freshen up, then lay down, letting the day settle in my mind. And now, here I am, sharing it with you the wonderful day.
It wasn’t anything extraordinary on the surface, but looking back, it was full of work, memories, laughter, and those little unexpected moments that make a day truly worth it. I’d really love to hear about your day too, what stood out for you?
