The Traditional Milkshakes that beat the heat

As I told last week's post we are situated in the tropical region and one of the hottest nations in the world. The climate of summer brings about plenty of sun and very hot temperature. Drink water and consume water-rich foods that excellent idea to survive in the heat. People here are traditionally made and took different types of cool drinks for that purpose. This is so because our body during summer losses a lot of liquid due to sweating and hence we should increase the intake of water. Hence, eating water-rich food in summer is healthy. For instance, you may consume water-rich fruits, vegetables, and other cool drinks.

Since our country is situated in a tropical region, South India—and Tamil Nadu in particular—offers a wide variety of bananas, such as Poovan, Rasthali, Sevvazhai, Karpooravalli, Nendran, Matti, Monthan, Peyan, and Robusta. Each variety is renowned for its own unique taste, color, and medicinal properties. It is for this reason that our ancestors created such refreshing drinks and passed down the recipes to us. Consequently, many milk-based beverages have become popular here; I take pride in introducing a few of them to you. Here is one such drink: Banana Milkshake.

Nutrition facts of Milk

It is a balanced food as well. This product provides the body with more than 13 nutrients that include protein, calcium, vitamin D, and B vitamins. It is also important for bone growth and muscle development.

Benefits of Milk:
  • Bone Health: The calcium and Vitamin D content in milk improves bone strength.

  • Muscle Development: The proteins called whey and casein contained in the milk help in muscle development.

  • Immunity: Zinc and Vitamin A content in milk help in boosting the immunity of the body.

Nutritional facts of Banana

The banana is an excellent fruit that provides the body with immediate energy and essential nutrients. It is rich in potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and dietary fiber. It improves digestion, helps maintain stable blood pressure, and alleviates fatigue caused by physical exercise.

Benefits of Banana:
  • The glucose and fructose content is easily digested, providing the body with immediate energy.

  • Its potassium content and low sodium levels help control blood pressure and protect the heart. Proper Digestion: Soluble and insoluble fibers regulate bowel movements and prevent constipation.

  • High potassium levels help prevent muscle cramps and aid

Nutrition facts of Cashew Nuts

Cashew nuts are rich in healthy fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals essential for the body. Consuming cashews in moderation daily improves heart health, strengthens the nerves, and provides the body with necessary energy.

Benefits of Cashew Nuts:
  • The healthy fats present in them help reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) in the body and protect the heart.
  • The magnesium in cashews relaxes the nerves and works alongside calcium to strengthen bones.
  • Due to their fiber and healthy fat content, consuming even a small amount of cashews creates a feeling of fullness, thereby
  • The zinc and antioxidants they contain boost the body's immune system.
Nutritional facts of Almonds

Almonds contain a number of nutrients in a single serving size of 28 grams which means about 23 almonds. They are an ideal source of protein, fiber, and fat content which helps the heart remain healthy.

  • Almonds help in reducing bad cholesterol and improving heart and brain functions.

How to make "Banana Milkshake"

STEP 1:

Take two well ripen bananas , Peel them off and chop them into small slices amd keep aside.

STEP 2:

Take 25 grams of cashewnuts put them into the mixergrinder jar and grind them to make powder

STEP 3:

Add the sliced banas and grind them again to make pulp

STEP 4:

Add 2 cups of boiled and cooled milk, add required amount of sugar and mix well.

STEP 5:

Take some

STEP 6:

Take the ice cream from the refrigerator and add one spoonful of it to the tumbler, ensuring that it does not mix in.

Now the "Banana Milkshake" is ready, keep it in refrigirator for an hour to serve cold or add icecubes to serve instatntly

  1. What varieties of bananas are available in your area, and what dishes are prepared using them?(2 Marks)

  2. Make a Banana Milkshake is shared in the course or make it as per your style, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images. (4 Marks)

  3. List the ingredients and their prices in your local currency and in STEEM.(1 Mark)

  4. Make a good Presentation of your recipe with date tag and a selfie. (2 Marks)

  5. Share the post to any social media and share the link in your posts comment section (1 Mark)
