The Dairy Game: A Cooking And Restful Day At Home (09-06-2026)

Hello besties, it's your girl, kemkem1, welcome to today's dairy game.Today, I want to tell you about my Wednesday. It was not really a stressful day, but it was a busy one because I needed to go to the market to buy some things for the house. I woke up in the morning and started my day with my quiet time. After that, I did a few house chores and got myself ready. I had already planned to go to the market because I needed to buy some fruits, fufu, and ingredients for Afang soup. Since things are usually cheaper in the market, I decided it was the best place to get everything I needed. When I arrived at the market, the first thing that caught my attention was the tomatoes. They looked so fresh and beautiful that I could not just walk past them. I stopped and asked the seller for the price. After hearing the price, I felt it was reasonable, so I decided to buy some. I knew I could store them properly and use them for other meals later. After buying the tomatoes, I continued further into the market because I wanted to get beta leaf. The better leaf being sold outside did not look very fresh, so I decided to check inside the market instead. Luckily for me, I found a seller with very fresh better leaf. I was happy because it was exactly what I wanted. I bought some and then moved on to buy water leaf and the other ingredients needed for the soup. As I continued shopping, I noticed that my bag was getting fuller and fuller. Before long, it was almost completely filled with the things I had bought. At the same time, the money I had with me was reducing quickly. I laughed to myself and thought about how expensive things have become these days in Nigeria. After getting the most important items on my list, I decided it was time to head back home. I only had enough money left for my transportation, so I paid for my ride and started my journey home. When I got back, I arranged the things I bought and felt satisfied because I had gotten everything I needed for the house.

When I got back home from the market, I decided to rest for a while because I was really tired from the stress of the day. After relaxing for some time, I drank some water to refresh myself. When I felt better, I started unpacking all the items I had bought from the market and arranged them properly in the kitchen. Since my main goal was to prepare afang soup, I began with the vegetables. First, I washed the afang leaves thoroughly, sliced them into smaller pieces, and pounded them until they were ready for cooking. After that, I moved on to the water leaf. While cleaning it, I noticed that it contained a lot of sand, so I had to wash it several times to make sure it was completely clean. I rinsed it about two or three times before I was satisfied, then I sliced it and kept it aside. I like preparing all my ingredients before placing the pot on the fire because it makes cooking easier and more organized. Next, I prepared the meat by washing and seasoning it properly. I also cleaned the fish and got it ready for cooking. One ingredient I never like to leave out is periwinkle because it adds a special taste to the soup. After getting everything ready, I placed my pot on the gas cooker and turned on the flame. I started adding the ingredients one after another, following the normal process of preparing afang soup. As the soup cooked, the aroma gradually spread throughout the house and made everyone eager for the meal. The smell was so inviting that it made me even more excited to taste it. By the time the soup was ready, the aroma had filled every corner of the house. I tasted it and was amazed at how delicious it was. The flavor was rich, and all the ingredients blended perfectly. I was proud of myself because the soup turned out even better than I expected. The taste was so enjoyable, and I could not stop admiring how well everything came together. After that, I arranged everything neatly, got the meal ready, and prepared for everyone to enjoy the delicious afang soup.

After I was done cooking, I sat down to enjoy the meal. The afang soup was so delicious that I ended up eating twice because I could not resist the taste. I was really satisfied and happy with how the soup turned out. Although I felt tired, I did not want to sleep because I still had some business to attend to. I deal in palm oil on a small scale, so I decided to step outside and make arrangements to get some stock that I could later advertise and sell to customers. It had been about two weeks since I last saw the woman who usually supplied the palm oil, so I contacted her and she informed me that she would be available soon. When we finally met, we discussed the business and she agreed to give me the palm oil at a good price. I was pleased with the offer and immediately made plans to transport it to a place where I could safely store it before reselling it. The process was not very easy because I had to wait for transportation and make several phone calls to ensure everything went smoothly. After some time, I was finally able to move the palm oil to the storage location. With the help of a few people, everything was properly arranged and kept ready for sale. I felt relieved that the business transaction had been successful and that I now had products available for my customers. Later in the evening, after completing all the necessary arrangements, I returned home feeling exhausted but satisfied with everything I had achieved during the day. I ate some rice, took a refreshing shower, and changed into clean clothes. The cool bath helped me relax after the busy day. Feeling fresh and comfortable, I decided to rest for a while. Before long, sleep took over, and I drifted off, thankful for a productive and successful day.

When I woke up later in the evening, I was not feeling very strong, but I knew I needed to eat something for dinner. Since I did not want a heavy meal, I decided to have bread and coconut because it is one of my favorite light meals. I asked my sister to help me get the items, and she went around the neighborhood looking for coconuts. After searching for some time, she was able to get some coconuts and also bought bread. When she returned, we opened the coconuts and enjoyed the cool coconut water and the sweet coconut flesh. The bread and coconut made a simple but satisfying meal. Later, my fiancée came around, and we spent some time talking and relaxing together. We continued eating the coconut and enjoying each other's company. Before the night ended, I also ate some pineapple, which was sweet and refreshing. Although I was not feeling too well earlier, I felt much better after eating and spending time with my loved ones. Looking back on the day, I felt grateful and happy because it had been a productive day filled with shopping, cooking, business activities, and quality time with family. As the night became quieter and everyone settled down to rest, I prepared for bed and ended the day feeling satisfied, peaceful, and thankful for everything I had accomplished.
