‎Today was one of those days that tested my ability to balance work and school. ‎I started my day early and got to work by 7:30 a.m. As a part-time teacher, I have to be punctual because the pupils look forward to seeing their teachers every morning. When I arrived, we had our usual morning assembly before heading to our various classes. ‎My first period was with the toddler class. Teaching toddlers is not always easy because they have short attention spans, but I enjoy working with them. I spent about 40 minutes teaching and interacting with them before moving on with my duties. ‎

‎ ‎ ‎

‎After the class, I checked my phone and saw a message that there would be an impromptu test at school by 11:00 a.m. The test carried 30 marks, so missing it was not an option. Immediately, I became worried because I was still at work and had several classes left to teach. ‎I explained the situation to the headteacher, hoping she would allow me to leave early. Unfortunately, she insisted that I had to finish teaching the scholars before leaving. At that moment, I felt torn between my responsibility as a teacher and my commitment as a student. I later approached another teacher and politely explained my situation. Thankfully, she agreed to help me by taking over part of my schedule. ‎

‎ ‎ ‎

‎As soon as I got the chance, I hurried to school. By the time I arrived, the test had already started. For a moment, I felt discouraged, but I quickly reminded myself that worrying would not help. I sat down and answered the questions with the knowledge I already had from lectures and personal study. It was not the ideal situation, but I was glad I made it there. ‎After the test, heavy rain started falling. The rain was so much that leaving the school was impossible. Since I had no choice, I stayed back and waited patiently. I finally left around 6:00 p.m. when the rain reduced ‎

‎ ‎ ‎

‎Getting home felt like a huge relief. I was tired, hungry, and ready to rest. The first thing I did was cook some rice because I needed a proper meal after such a long day. After eating, I also had a cup of Golden Morn with milk. Even though I was exhausted, I still observed my prayers, revised some of my course materials, and attended my online lesson. ‎

‎ ‎ ‎

‎As I prepared for bed, I reflected on the day. It wasn't an easy one, but it reminded me that life is all about showing up, even when things don't go as planned. Balancing work and school can be challenging, but days like this teach me resilience, responsibility, and the importance of not giving up. ‎This was how I spent my day. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. ‎
