Some moments spent at a friend's daughter's Annaprashan

Hello friends, how is everyone doing? I hope you are all doing very well. Today, I would like to share with you some of my experiences and feelings from attending my friend's daughter's Annaprashan ceremony. I hope you will really enjoy today's post.

Annaprashan is a special ceremony within the Hindu tradition, marking the occasion when a child is fed rice—or solid food—for the very first time. Just a few days ago, I received an invitation to such an Annaprashan ceremony from a friend. My friend had extended a formal invitation—complete with a printed card—to my entire family for his daughter's rice-eating ceremony. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, it was not possible for my whole family to attend; consequently, I decided to go alone.

My friends had chosen to celebrate this event with considerable grandeur and pomp. To accommodate this, they rented a venue called "Karunamoyee Lawn and Garden"—located some distance from their own flat, near the Madhyamgram crossing—specifically for the occasion. Since the ceremony was scheduled for Sunday evening, I first stopped by another friend's house with a gift in hand. From there, I proceeded to the Annaprashan venue along with that friend's family. Although the festivities had officially commenced in the early evening, we arrived around 8:30 PM.

Upon arrival, I was immediately captivated by the delightful ambiance—specifically, the magnificent entrance gate adorned with flowers and balloons, and the serene natural surroundings. My friend's daughter has been named Suchitrita, while her affectionate nickname is "Mithai." Just as both her names are incredibly sweet, the little child herself was absolutely adorable. I sincerely wish her a life filled with good health, joy, and happiness alongside her family.

The ceremony featured a truly lavish dining arrangement, organized as a buffet system to allow everyone to dine at their own pace and comfort. The menu boasted a vast array of items, with the highlights including various types of fritters and appetizers (such as Paneer Tikka, Chicken Kebab, and Gandharaj Chicken), tea, coffee, assorted Fuchka, Naan bread, Fried Rice, plain rice, Bhetki Paturi, Alur Dum, Mutton Kosha, Golda Chingrir Malaikari (Jumbo Prawn Curry), Chicken Momos, a variety of mocktails, traditional sweets, yogurt, various ice cream flavors, and sweet Paan, among other delicacies. Finally, there was a massive cake that was truly beautiful. Although such rich food tends to be quite heavy, I wasn't able to eat very much of it. Nevertheless, every guest was served with the utmost care—flawlessly and with a smile. The event was celebrated most elegantly, set within a truly wonderful atmosphere. I, too, captured a few photographs to immortalize these beautiful moments. Above all, being able to share such a lovely occasion with so many familiar faces after such a long time evoked a truly unique feeling within me—a feeling of sheer delight.

হ্যালো বন্ধুরা, আপনারা সবাই কেমন আছেন?আশা করি সবাই অনেক ভালো আছেন। আজ আমি আপনাদের সামনে আমার বন্ধুর মেয়ের অন্নপ্রাশনে কাটানো কিছু অনুভূতি শেয়ার করবো। আশা করি অনেক ভালো লাগবে আপনাদের কাছে আমার আজকের পোস্টটি।

অন্নপ্রাশন অর্থাৎ হিন্দুধর্মের এক বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান।যেখানে এই অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে শিশুকে প্রথম মুখে ভাত বা অন্ন তুলে দেওয়া হয়।তো কয়েক দিন আগেই সেইরকম অন্নপ্রাশনের নিমন্ত্রণ পেয়েছিলাম আমার বন্ধুর কাছ থেকে।যেখানে বন্ধু কার্ড দিয়ে আমাদের সপরিবারকে নিমন্ত্রণ করেছিলো তার মেয়ের অন্নপ্রাশন উপলক্ষে।কিন্তু পরিস্থিতির কারণে সবাই সেখানে যাওয়া সম্ভব না হলেও আমি একাই যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলাম।

যেহেতু এই অনুষ্ঠানটি আমার বন্ধুরা বেশ জাঁকজমকপূর্নভাবেই পালন করেছিলো।তার জন্য তারা নিজেদের ফ্ল্যাট থেকে দূরে মধ্যমগ্রামের চৌমাথা অভিমুখে "করুনাময়ী লন এন্ড গার্ডেন" ভাড়া নিয়েছিলো।তো রবিবার সন্ধ্যায় এই অনুষ্ঠান হওয়ার জন্য আমি গিফট নিয়ে অন্য এক বন্ধুর বাড়ি গিয়েছিলাম প্রথমে।তারপর সেখান থেকে সেই বন্ধুর ফ্যামিলির সঙ্গে চলে গিয়েছিলাম অন্নপ্রাশন অনুষ্ঠানে।যদিও সন্ধ্যা থেকেই শুরু হয়েছিলো অনুষ্ঠানটি কিন্তু আমরা পৌঁছেছিলাম 8.30 মিনিট নাগাদ।

গিয়েই প্রথমে ফুল ও বেলুন দিয়ে সাজানো চমৎকার গেট ও প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশ উপভোগ করলাম।বন্ধুর মেয়ের নাম রাখা হয়েছে সুচিত্রিতা।আর ডাক নাম (মিঠাই)।দুটি নাম-ই যেমন ভারী মিষ্টি তেমনই কিউট ছিল বাচ্চাটি।তার সুস্বাস্থ্য ও সুন্দর আনন্দময় জীবন পরিবারের সঙ্গে কামনা করি সর্বদা।তো অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্যে বেশ জাঁকজমকপূর্ন খাওয়া দাওয়ার আয়োজন করা হয়েছিলো।যেখানে বুফে সিস্টেম ছিল নিজেদের মতো করে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করে সবাই খেতে পারে।মেনুর মধ্যে অনেক অনেক আইটেম ছিল।যার মধ্যে প্রধান ছিল-বিভিন্ন ধরনের পকোড়ার আইটেম(পনির টিক্কা,চিকেন কাবাব,গন্ধরাজ চিকেন),চা,কফি,বিভিন্ন ধরনের ফুচকা,নান রুটি,ফ্রাই রাইস,সাদা ভাত,ভেটকি পাতুরি, আলুর দম, মটন কষা,গলদা চিংড়ির মালাইকারি,চিকেন মোমো ,নানা ধরনের মকটেল,মিষ্টি,দই, নানা ধরনের আইসক্রিম ও মিষ্টি পান ইত্যাদি।

সবশেষে ছিল ইয়া বড় একটি কেক যেটা খুবই সুন্দর ছিল।যদিও এই ধরনের খাবারগুলি খুবই ভারী হওয়ায় খুব একটা খাওয়া সম্ভব হয়নি।তবে সেখানে প্রত্যেক মানুষকে অত্যন্ত যত্নের সহিত খাবার পরিবেশন করানো হয়েছে ত্রুটিহীনভাবে ও হাসিমুখে।খুবই সুন্দরভাবে অনুষ্ঠানটি পালন করা হয়েছিলো, যেটা দারুণ একটি পরিবেশের মধ্যে দিয়ে।আমিও এই সুন্দর মুহূর্তে কাটানো কিছু ছবি ক্যামেরাবন্দি করেছিলাম।তারপরও অনেক চেনা মানুষের সঙ্গে দীর্ঘদিন পর এমন সুন্দর একটি মুহূর্ত কাটাতে পেরে আসলেই ভিন্ন একটি অনুভূতি কাজ করছিলো মনে।এটা বেশ ভালো লাগার এক অনুভূতি।।
