The diary game: A Snake, A Busy Day, and Countless Reasons to Be Grateful [30 - 07 - 2026]

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Welcome to another edition of my diary game @somnma. Every day comes with its own unique experiences, and today was filled with responsibility, an unexpected surprise, and many reasons to be grateful.

I woke up very early this morning because my dad had plans to leave the house quite early. I began my day by saying my prayers, speaking positive affirmations to myself, and spending a few minutes reflecting on some verses from the Bible. These moments prepare me mentally for the day ahead.

After that, I drank some water, washed my face, and arranged my bed before heading to the kitchen. My dad needed to eat before leaving, so I washed the cooking pot and gathered the few ingredients we had left at home. Our food stuffs were almost exhausted, but I managed to prepare a simple pot of rice with the little ingredients available. Thankfully, it came out well.

When the food was ready, I served my dad, and he ate before leaving for his destination. Afterward, I washed the plates and cleaned the kitchen. I then swept my room, the kitchen, and the compound. I was doing everything as quickly as possible because I didn't want to arrive late at work.

Later, I boiled water for my bath, brushed my teeth, ate a little of the rice I had prepared, and used the hot water to bathe. I dressed in the clothes I had already selected the previous night, applied my body cream, sprayed my favorite perfume, brushed my hair, checked my handbag to be sure I had everything I needed, and then left for work.

When I arrived at the shop, I was the first person there, so I proceeded with opening the door. As soon as I opened the door, I saw a small snake inside the shop. I screamed immediately, shut the door, and ran outside to call for help because I was terrified. Thankfully, some people nearby came over, but when they opened the door they couldn't find it, after several searches it was found, killed, and thrown onto the road. Even after it was gone, I was still too frightened to enter the shop until one of my colleagues arrived. Together, we entered, swept and mopped the shop, and later my other colleagues joined us. Soon after, our madam arrived, I told her about the incident that happened earlier, she was shocked and frightened at the same time. Later, she gave us our daily tasks, and before long customers started coming in for different services.

The day became very busy, and before I knew it, my phone had gone off. Because of that, I couldn't take pictures of the beautiful hairstyles we made at work today. When the customers left, I removed the scarf I had worn to work and started loosening my old hairstyle. One of my colleagues offered to help me, but it was quite painful, so after a while I continued by myself. The weather became cold, I wore my long sleeve shirt I brought along with me to work. While I was loosing my hair, electricity was restored, I hurriedly put my phone to charge. I couldn't finish loosening it before closing time, so I packed it neatly and tied my scarf around it again before heading home.

When I got home, I ate the remaining rice I had cooked in the morning with an egg. My appetite wasn't really good today, so I couldn't eat much. Later that evening, after taking my bath and bringing out the clothes and other things I would need for tomorrow, I relaxed on my bed and finally checked my phone.

One of the first apps I opened was my Steemit account. Seeing the upvotes, encouraging comments, and support from this wonderful community made me smile. It encouraged me to keep writing, learning, and improving. I truly appreciate every one of you for taking your time to read, support, and encourage my work.
