The Diary Game: 6th July, 2026. How I Spent My Thursday (A Productive and Afang soup for the first time 🤭).

Hello, everyone ❤️

My name is Tule. I write about the little moments of my daily life, and somehow, you've found yourself reading today's chapter. Welcome to my diary🤭
I woke up feeling very motivated today. After my morning routine and devotion, I quickly got dressed and headed out. I was scheduled to attend an important seminar at a local resource center.
The seminar focused on "Youth and Personal Development. A topic that truly resonates with me. As soon as I arrived, the atmosphere was nice. I sat down eager to take in all the information. I had my pen and notepad ready. The speaker was excellent—very engaging and full of practical advice on setting goals and self-improvement. It was a great opportunity to learn, especially surrounded by other young people who are also trying to grow. These kinds of sessions are so important, not just for the certificates, but for the shifts in mindset. I felt truly inspired as I was leaving.

By the time the seminar wrapped up, it was already afternoon, and my stomach was crying. My lunches usually involve something quick and familiar, but today I felt like trying new food . I heard so many great things about Afang soup, which is a delicacy from the South-South region of Nigeria (specifically the Efik and Ibibio people), and I’d never actually tried it. Although I don't know how to make it, but my sister said she has watched the tutorials on YouTube over times so she went out to get the ingredients which includes: water leaves, perinkle, crayfish, stockfish, afang leave. I was so hungry that I forgot to snap those ingredients and the process of how she made the soup.

I took my first bite with some semo, and wow. The flavor was so complex—slightly bitter from the afang, but also savory and incredibly flavorful. I have to admit, it exceeded my expectations. I can't believe it took me this long to try it. It was an absolute delight. My afternoon was instantly made better.

After my fantastic lunch, I lay down to rest and catch up on some things. Just as the evening approach, around 5:30 PM, I decided it was the perfect time for a little evening stroll around the neighborhood. My nephew and I took a leisurely walk through some of the smaller streets. It was beautiful watching the day wind down. My nephew, as usual, was full of chatter, pointing out dogs, cars, and other kids playing. It's moments like these—simple, quiet, and beautiful scenery that make life really special. We must have spent about an hour just wandering before heading back.

By the time I got back from our walk, the sun had set, I didn't feel like making anything complicated for dinner. I wanted something light before bed. I opted for the comfort food classic: a steaming mug of hot tea (with lots of milk, just how I like it) and several slices of soft, fresh bread. It’s funny how a simple cup of tea can sometimes feel more satisfying than a multi-course meal. It was the perfect way to warm up a busy day. After finishing my dinner, I sat down to write this diary entry, reflecting on everything that happened.

It was truly a day well spent, balanced between productivity, new experiences, and loved ones. I hope you all had a productive day as well. Thank you for reading my dairyiry today, I appreciate. ❤️
