"SC-S31/W6-Movie Magic |Movies that stay with you | Dr No |
I am here to write about Week 6: Movies That Stay With You for the contest started by @ruthjoe and invite @suboohi @josepha and @mahidisalim

I come straight to the questions:
Write on a movie that has never left your mind because it impacted you.
I am here to focus on movie, "Dr. No" for the week for its impact and reflection it left on me. It was a different experience that is still fresh in my mind and I never missed a Bond movie as soon as they got released in my city or wherever I lived after watching this one.
This movie shows what it says:
A resourceful British government agent seeks answers in a case involving the disappearance of a colleague and the disruption of the American space program.
I watched it decades back when still a college student and by then I had seen just a few English movies before this one, including another Bond movie "Casino Royale" which they said was a spy movie but to me it felt like a comedy. I thought it was a parody led by David Niven, Peter Sellers, and Woody Allen, but I went to watch Ursula Andress, to be honest.
But when I watched Dr. No, it changed my interest in spy movies and I became a big fan of Sean Connery. I can definitely say, Dr. No. is my favorite which I can watch again for its dialogues, scenes and the way Sean did his job.

As you said there are movies we watch and after the movie is done, some scenes from the movie keeps playing in our mind, in my case it was James Bond in Dr. No when he said “The name’s Bond. James Bond.”, though the film itself also includes the shorter “Bond. But the James Bond version in this film starring Sean Connery is its USP. I can't forget the famous introduction he usually quoted when trying to make an impact on his opponents or anyone he wanted to impress.Which scene still stays in your mind? Why?
Let me quote one scene from Dr. No. when James Bond enters in his introductory scene at the London casino, he lights a cigarette in a stylish way (Even if I am not a smoker) and says, "Bond, James Bond."
I felt that was his USP where he established himself as an archetype, cool secret agent. I still have that scene in my mind for several reasons, one, its powerful impact and it was beginning of the most recognizable dialogue in cinema's history. It also instantly defined James Bond 007 as an effortless charm and confidence.

I thought it was a master stroke of the character even if Ian Flaming the writer of the novel disapproved but it made its impact even if this dialogue had just a couple of words which established Sean as Bond, as a spy who remain completely unbothered, whether he's being flirted with or facing a perilous situation.
It also set a trend for coming characters how to act to become stylist action heroes or introduce themselves. Sean as James Bond blended danger with high sophistication with this single dialogue for years to come.
What message did you carry forward?
The Message of the Movie Dr. No in my view is that he was sure about Western supremacy over the eastern Block. He further assured the intelligence agencies of western world were far superior and capable over eastern block in his own style in just a few words, "Bond, I'm James Bond.".

Dr. No released well over half a decade ago although I watched it in 1970s as a student, had the advance vision and highlighted a fear of and warned about advanced technology in the wrong hands might put global security in danger which is still proving true.
The message of the movie is clear that dictatorship is no good or instead of relying on big armies, the modern world must depend on highly skilled, adaptable individuals to solve complex global crises.
In the brief I must say how the villain Dr. No acts against Bond's values, or look at how the film's settings reinforced British colonial attitudes of that era. I am sure as an Indian I understand that well and some of you who are reading my humble effort are also aware of the result of such incidents.

Would you recommend this movie? Why?
Wow sure, if I have to then will recommend Dr. No if you love to watch thrill and espionage movies. I will recommend if you wish to experience the birth of the greatest spy in cinema, James Bond and I will do it if you wish to see the good always wins over evil. I recommend DR. No because Sean Connery brought a different school of acting to cinema.
Maybe I got over impressed being a young student but I still feel it was a perfect experience watching Dr. No as my first real Bond movie played by Sean Connery’s cool and a daring acting. And I was thrilled when I heard him say "Bond, James Bond" as his intro, so yes, I will definitely recommend this movie to my friends.
I must say, the way Sean talks, flirts and then transforms into a cool spy as 007, without depending on heavy gadgets he sets the standard for cool and legendary, cigarette smoking handsome man, clad in tuxedo yet turns into a ruthless, confident secret agent.
I guess despite all the fantastical movies of today's time depending heavily on gadgets this movie despite being a tense one, deals straightforward, character-driven mystery. The hero Bond relies on his wits, intellect, and paranoia to survive. Finally, if you wish to watch the beauty of Carrabian you must watch this movie shot in Jamaica. Let me confess the "Bond girl" Ursula Andress, my all time favorite who plays Honey Ryder in this movie.

Thanks!!!! I watched this movie almost 50 years ago but I still remember it scene by scene. I have seen all Bond movies released so far, but no other actor impressed me as James Bond once Sean was replaced by other actors.
