The dairy game :(17/06/2026) Raining day, advicing my junior sister and attending a naming ceremony
Good evening everyone welcome to another diary section @abdulsamadyusuf .
Earlier today started with Fajr prayer. I woke up, stepped outside, and the sky was serious. Dark clouds everywhere in Abuja. Rain was about to fall. Because of that, I couldn’t go out. So I came back and rested.
I slept again and woke around 9. That’s when I started hearing the noise. My mom was complaining loudly about my sister. She was refusing to go to her hair dressing salon work. My mom was angry.
That scene took me back to Borno State during my NYSC. I sat my sister down and talked to her about hair dressing. I told her, “See the situation of the country now. Things have gone wrong. Many graduates are roaming with certificates but no job.”
I told her she’s lucky. She has hair dressing equipment right here at home. The dryer, the combs, the chairs, everything she needs. But she’s not taking it serious. Me, I didn’t have that opportunity from the beginning. But when I was in Borno State, I got one year to learn a skill and I grabbed it. That same skill is what I’m using to feed myself today.
me on site working with skill I learned
“Now is the right time for you my sister to take hair dressing serious,” I told her. “If you lose this opportunity, by the time you realize it will be too late. You cannot rely on government work alone. You must have a skill that pays you daily.”
I showed her the equipment in the house. “Look at these dryers, these combs, this chair. This is your office. One customer per day is better than waiting for government letter that may never come.
some of things she use for plaiting
I put her through on the basic things of life and the necessity of skill. I told her, “You don’t know where God will take you. You might settle in another state. You can even travel out. You can end up owning your own salon. By then you’ll call me and say ‘Big bro, I appreciate those words you gave me about hair dressing. You changed my life.
she took the advice and later got a customer
after that I went out my boss we went to a naming ceremony for a friend if his and after everything was done I got back rested, had my meal and retired for the rain later came around restricting all other movement or action so that how my day went thanks for sharing my day with me see you guys tomorrow.

My message is not just for her. It’s for all young youths. Don’t take life as it is. Hold any skill with your full hand and grab it.
