The Diary Game | A Rainy Day, Business Errand and Laundry Runs

If there’s anything I’m happy to have in my 20s, it’s the freedom to do anything I want without having to ask anyone for permission. My day started quite late. The heavy rain came w the exact kind of weather I enjoy so I slept a little bit more. I couldn’t decide what to eat. I definitely wasn’t in the mood to cook. I had a couple of stop bys and needed to leave soon but I decided to hang around for a little bit more for my Ofada vendor who usually hawks midday. While waiting for her, I got on a call with 2 of my friends to discuss the plans for the work gig we had next week at ikorodu (movement wise and money wise).

She finally came and I got my usual. Ofada rice, beans, plantain and egg. I almost couldn’t finish it but I couldn’t keep it because it would get sour before I got back and I wasn’t sure how long I would be out.

The weather during the rainy season is always the best part of my day because it means less traffic and less heat than usual. My only problem with days like this are the hike in transport fare because of how messy the roads get after the rains. You’d almost beg to be allowed to pay the regular amount you do on a regular day.

I eventually headed over to my friend’s place. I purchased some items for my business from him so I just picked that up and we ended up leaving together to his laundry shop. Since I moved into my place, the fear of getting my clothes stolen hasn’t allowed me the confidence to wash at home so I always take my clothes there to be washed. Especially with how heavy my duvet , there’s no possible way to wash it myself so I always take them to the shop every week. We have an inside joke about me bringing my clothes to his laundry shop while I help him cook whenever he needs to. something we jokingly call “friendship palliative “ a one way of us giving back to ourselves.

While getting the rest of my clothes sorted, I sat down to read this biology book I found on his shelf. Honestly the female reproductive system is still a fascinating wonder to me even as a woman. I eventually headed home. I needed to reply some messages but I had a hard time with the network. I got fed up and decided to arrange the clothes I had brought back home.

Later at night, i ran out of water so I headed outside to get a bag of water and also a bottle of cold sprite. I ate that with sausage I bought on my way back. The network eventually started working again. I did the remaining things I needed to do, took a shower and did my skincare routine. And like that my day is coming to an end. Im sleepy already and I’m about to call it a night. Today was a productive day for me and just one of those days that make you feel slightly better about yourself.

###Thank you for spending a part of your day reading about mine. Until the next diary game, stay safe, stay happy and don’t stop smiling. 🌸
